I am due to start the SBD tomorrow (Monday 16th June 2008). My friend at work swears by this diet and I did try it once a few years ago but failed after 3 days as I didn't really have any weight to lose back then. I was 8st 2lb (114lb) back then and wish I still was now : )
My job and busy social life means that I have a fairly sedentary lifestyle unless I get to the gym. I am now 9st 6lb, (132lb) just inside my healthy BMI.
I have a lot of meetings after work (which often includes drinking wine and snacking) and I often have a glass of wine at home after a long stressful day. This of course leads to making bad food choices and is the perfect excuse not to go to the gym. It's also well over the recommended weekly allowance of alcohol for a woman which is another reason for choosing this diet.
I have now started cycling to work instead of driving but need a diet that shows quick results in the beginning to keep me motivated. I have cancelled my subscription to Weightatchers after paying for it for a year and only losing 5lb. I never used the forum for support so decided to join this one to see if it makes a difference on those weak days.
Will keep you posted! |

| Good luck, It's not a bad diet. The first 2 weeks are the hardest but I can tell you the second time around is alot easier than the first was. I wish I never stopped using the diet I might of been at my goal weight by now. Instead I am kicking myself in the rear for not sticking to it haha |

Determinata... this is a very healthy diet that can teach you good life long eating habits. Being that you don't have much to lose (you're already at a "normal" weight) you will lose much slower that someone with a lot to lose. Don't let that stop you, though. The last pounds are always the hardest to lose... and that's where you're starting.
Riding your bike to work and not drinking the wine for two weeks will definitely help. Be sure to PLAN for those after work meetings and social gatherings (know what you will drink/eat or eat before you go). Don't leave it to chance. As a previous Weight Watcher you've most likely heard this before but it's worth repeating...
When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Good luck! |

Thanks for the encouragent. It's nice to have it as my boyfrend (as supportive as tries to be) never really takes me seriously or thinks I can stick it out. I am determined this time ...the reason I chose the username.
I think I will be fine with cutting out the wine as I have done it in the past (just to make sure I still could : ), but I know how badly I will miss the fruits, potatoes and bread. (even though I never eat white breads and pasta.) So grateful for the cheese allowance.
I've got a goal, which is my holiday to Italy in 2 weeks, so I am sure I can stay motivated. It will be perfect timing to go on to phase 2.
I'll post updates and come back if I am struggling. Cheers for the advice again |
