Help!

Is movie popcorn allowed on Phase 2?

Thanks,

It says this on the list

Popcorn, 3 cups popped
- Air popped
- Microwave, plain, no trans fats
- Cooked stove-top with canola oil

I think as long as it has no butter however, I snuck my own in last night.

even the oils they cook it in probably makes it less than desireable even if you don't add their "butter".

True, but they air pop them at certain places here. I say sneak your own in to be safe. :D

Movie theater popcorn is junk food... I looked up the nutrition info on Edward's Movie Theater's Popcorn, KID SIZE (that's 5 cups... we can have three cups per serving, but I doubt many people would stop before the smallest bag available was empty lol ) and this is what I found:

Kid size, UNbuttered - 5 cups
300 calories
20 grams fat
14 grams saturated fat.

Now, let's compare the acceptable version of popcorn, keeping the serving size the same (5 cups):

Air Popped - 5 cups
177 calories
1.8 grams fat
0.3 grams saturated fat

Oil Popped - 5 cup
275 calories
15.5 grams fat
2.7 grams saturated fat

At least now you know what you're eating if you get the unbuttered popcorn at the movies. Sneak your own in. ;)

Thanks for all the replys. Maybe, someday I be able to learn how to look up this stuff on my own. Until then...

Great message board. First I've ever used.

Hmmmm

Break the law or cheat on your diet - what on earth is a person to do?:P

The only way I would not eat movie popcorn is if it was made with pork lard. I see a movie about twice a year, anyway.....when I do, I get the big bag and eat it until my lips feel weird (and even then I might not stop). I certainly wouldn't do that once a week (or wouldn't announce it here if I did).

hehehe my son's first job was at the movies and he can't even stand to be in the house when I pop it. He says there's something about "movie juice" as well!!!

I seriously don't think anything you can buy at the movies is good for you. Well with exception to Dots as they are only for tossing at the people you know who are also at the movies, otherwise they're inedible.
