| Sugars are carbs so they are included under the carb count. It has 3 gms of carbs per 2 fl. oz serving which I assume is equivalent to 2 tblsp. All the sugars would be part of that and likely all the carbs come from sugars so it meets the 3 gms of sugars or less guideline. But it has a huge amount of fat (35 gms) as well which boosts the calories to 350 for a 2 fl. oz serving. The various flavored ranch dressings are closer to the guidelines in that regard. The avocado ranch only has 15 gms of fat and 150 calories, so you save 200 calories just on the dressing alone. The chipotle ranch has 2 gms of sugar, 18 gms of fat and 170 calories and the wasabi ranch has 18 gms of fat, 3 gms of sugar and 180 calories. The plain ranch jumps up to 25 gms of fat and 240 calories, so even though the sugars are low, it's still a lot of fat and calories. SB salad dressing guidelines for fat are for between 10 and 16 gms of fat and made from predominantly healthy oils. Since we have no idea what oils they are using, I'd just try to stick close to that range and the three flavored ranch dressings do that the best while keeping sugars/carbs low as well with the avacado ranch being the "best" overall based only on the nutritional panel. Do you like any of those? ;) |

| eggscellent... and if they actually use any avocado in it, then it would have at least some healthy fats as well. I was kind of surprised that it was the lowest fat "regular" dressing. You see "avocado" in the name and you think "high fat". Well at least I do! I'd still order the dressing on the side and use the fork dip method or use it lightly. I'm guessing they put on more than a 2 fl. oz "serving" when they do it. |
