hi there!!

I was wondering this too (just restarted on June 16th).

I've been sticking to 30 mins everyday using my exercise ball. I feel that I can't do anymore than that b/c the diet has made me so sick the past couple of days due to not having any sugar (shaky, headache, nausea, etc).

hopefully someone who's been beachin for a while can answer this for us!!

The new guideline is at least 30 minutes a day of whatever you can do.

It's normal to feel weak in P1 and it's suggested to take it easy until P2 when you re-introduce starchy carbs.

To avoid feeling weak in P1 you need to drink enough fluids, add at least 2 cups of low-fat milk/plain yogurt per day and up to 1/2 cup of beans per meal, but you can have them at more than one meal in your menu.

Also, you need to eat before you're hungry, don't skip meals and eat until you are satisfied, no stuff to keep your sugar level.

Good luck,

Thanks Ami!!

my nursing background made me think it was at least 30 mins but I wasn't sure. I'm not doing to much above that (i'll climb the 10 flights of stairs at my work when i'm there but that's only 3 days a week).

I think I'll wait to jog until phase 2

ami, IMHO, this is very good advice. I did almost all of P1 not knowing that I could have 2 cups of 1% milk per day. I figured that out by reading this board.

I find if I exercise on P1 I don't lose weight, but that may just be me.

stupid question, but how do you get the little weight tickers on your posts? i made my 'ticker', but can't figure out how to keep track of it and add it with my posts.

the simple answer is you take the full BBCode they give you at the end of the process and copy and paste it into the signature block in your Profile here. (there's a link at the top of the forum). Also make sure you have the option to enable BBCode checked to Yes in the preferences area. There's a more detailed thread with tutorials as a sticky thread at the top of the Technical Issues forum here to help walk you through it as well.
