Welcome to the SMALL LOSERS’S Group. :) This is a group for individuals who want to lose what I consider a small amount of weight…lets say 5-20 Lbs. The only explanation as to how I decided on this number is my own weight and since I have been struggling to lose 15 pounds for the past decade I thought it would be good idea to have a group for people who have similar goals.

A little bit about my own experience…I’m a 30 year old female, 5’5 and currently weight about 133 Lbs. I started SBD 21 days ago (my journal is available in the journal forum) so far I have lost 4 lbs and I have 10 more to go before I reach my goal weight of 123 Lbs. To many people 133 would be an ideal weight, but since I have a pear shaped body I feel very uncomfortable about where I carry most of my weight, my thighs and butt. I have a very small upper body/chest/shoulders and a very broad and heavy lower body which makes cloths shopping a nightmare. It’s hard trying to look good with size 4 top and a size 8-10 bottom so my goal is to reach 123 Lbs because hopefully by then I will look like what I did when I was 20 and had a nice proportioned body.

So if you are a small loser like me, come on board share your story and we’ll try to support you here so we can all reach our ideal weight and live a healthier life with SBD :D .

Hey Miss understood,
No I'm now on Ph2...started eating some fruits which I had really missed in phase 1, how about you?

I've only lost 4 lbs so far but I feel like it's more, I'v been working out regularly so I'm getting toned as well and my cloths are starting to feel loose.

Hi! I am also a small loser. I am 27 yo, 5'2 and 129 trying to get down to 115. I also have a pear shape body (or I think I do) so I know what you mean.

What a great idea, I'm a small loser as well. I'm 33, 5'9", and currently weigh 179. I'm a SAHM with 3 little ones and I just need to lose the last 15 and tone and tighten. I have tried everything, but I also struggle with pre-diabetes. So I know carbs and sugar are not my friend.
Good luck to all of us!

I'm 5'6, 26 yo, 150 lbs and want to lose 15 lbs. I am getting married in less than 8 months and want to look my absolute best on my wedding day!
I lost 20 lbs previously with SB, and kept it off for the most part (5 lbs somehow crept up!) but I know this lifestyle works for me, so i want to continue with it. I feel very in control when I'm following SB.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys,

Welcome everyone!!!! I'm sooooo glad to see there are others out there who fall into this category and I'm not alone. I think we need lots of support from each other since in my opinion it takes us longer to lose the weight since we are not that heavy to begin with. Based on my own experience the first 5 Lbs come off very easy but then after that things really slow down and my problem is that I lose patience...and I think that's the key point.. PATIENCE...if we wait long enough it will come off and to be honest I don't mind making SBD a lifelong thing cause it's good and healthy. I've been working out and I can already feel my legs getting toned, I also lift weights and workout on my elliptical hoping this will all add to my weight loss.

By the sounds of it we all want to lose 10-15% of our body weight, so dn't forget to be patient with the weight loss and use this forum everyday, there are tons of good information and support here.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE:)

Hi Stephie,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding...you can do it FOR SURE...15 lbs in 8 months should be easy, that's about 2 lbs in one month and you can do it!!!! and good for you for already losing 20 Lbs:)
If you did it before, you can do it again:)

Hi all, I am just about 5'2" and weighed myself this am at 133.5. That .5 lb makes a huge difference! I want to get down to 120 lbs and see where it goes after that. I was 175 after having my son 5.5 years ago. I got down to 120 last year and regained my weight slowly and was diagnosed with acid reflux, which has not helped me and I had issues in phase 1 where I gained 2 lbs back because of it. I just started phase 2 yesterday. Exercising on average 3 days a week. I think losing 15 lbs is hard, but we can all do it!

I focus on my goal and wearing a new bathing suit!

I'm back and I'm a small loser too. I did South Beach over a year and a half ago and lost 16 pounds. I'm getting married in three months and want to get back into shape, the healthy way without crash dieting. I am by no means over weight but do have an extra 10 + pounds (all of which is in my lower stomach and thighs). I'm so glad that this group exists now!! I started P1 6/11/08 :-)

Hi all, mind if I join as well ?! I just turned 34, I have 2 kids (my youngest just turned 2) and I want to loose the last of that baby weight and tone.........tone tone. (I'm almost 5' 6)

I had lost all the weight last summer and had the scale where I wanted, and was working on the "tone" part ....when I got a new job...one that involved (s) all day sitting.....

Now I'm back and determined to eat better, teach my kids to eat better and that food that's good for you CAN be easy to prepare and worth it...and that there's life out there besides the couch and remote. I started P1 on May 27th....so I'm only a day or 2 into P2.....

It's so frustrating though with so little (so to speak) to loose that the pounds and .5's just linger and don't move and fluctuate so much on my scale it gets frustrating and makes me question if it's worth it....hahaha IKNOW IT IS, but still..........sometimes I just need to vent!

Anyway, happy Thursday to all! ~Heather

I'm also a small loser! I need to lose about 20lbs to get back to where I started before I moved across the country for school. Before moving, I was working full time at a busy veterinary clinic and going to school full time, so I was always on my feet. Once I moved from Florida to California for vet school, I found myself constantly sitting on my bum studying...and I quickly gained an extra 20lbs.

I have NEVER in my life been over 130lb, always have hovered around 125, wanting to lose that extra 5lb. I got on the scale recently, and was blown away by the 144lb that was staring me in the face!

I have to get this under control, and South Beach has worked for me in the past, I have just strayed since moving out here. I like to think that as a poor grad student I have no money to buy good food, and for a while I was struggling with finances. But I think I have everything under control, and have been religious the past week or so on phase 1. The weight loss is starting to slow for me, and its fun to see the scale slide down, so I'm glad we've started a group to keep each other motivated!!! :)

How is everyone doing today? I am Phase 2, 3rd day. I think after adding cereal back in I might have a wheat allergy. I have thought it for a while however I think I confirmed it. So between that and my acid reflux I have not lost any weight since the first week... Disappointed. Especially since I have been exercising too. At least 30 mins a day 3 times a week. However its been more.

Im trying to continue on with a smile. :?

Hi all............it's certainly day to day with this way of life isn't it ?! I find if I step it up at the gym that I don't loose wieght.....so just keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat....so maybe if you aren't seeing the scale drop, the inches are dropping..........

I always LIVE for the weekends, but I also hate having all that "bad food" (and booze) closer to my no will power disposal. I work "away" from home and so I really only have access to what I pack to eat during the day....so I'm "safe" on the weekdays....weekends and indulging are CERTAINLY my downfalls!

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a great weekend. The sun even came out for about 2 minutes yesterday up here in Washington....(boy was that a shocker....) maybe one of these days I can put my rowboat and sled away and chisel the dust off my summer clothes....
