Hello fellow SB'ers! I used to frequent these boards a couple of years ago and there was an excellent discussion group for Christians here. It seems to be gone. If there is one in existence, point me in the right direction. However, if not, let's start one!
I love Jesus with all my heart! I am a believer that all of the gifts of the spirit are for today. My dh and I run a healing clinic where we see God regularly perform miracles.
I'd love to hear about other folks on the SB diet who love Jesus as well.
The purpose of this discussion would be to encourage each other both on the way of eating as well as in our walk with the Lord.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Praising! I am Deb and I live in Oklahoma. I just started SB and am happy to see this forum. I am hoping that my health will improve and I will gain some energy. I keep young at heart because I have 4 kids aged 5, 8, 11 and 16 even though I turned 46 last week.
I love reading, music, horseback riding and movies. I live on a little mini farm with lots of critters. My younger kids go to a great "country" school where most everyone is Christian. I home-school my 16 year old.
I have been a Christian since High School which was a LONG time ago. I used to do hair but quit to have babies and be a mom. I also was trained as a certified Labor Doula (fancy word for labor coach) for expecting parents but had to quit because it wasn't condusive for a mom with 4 kids to be on call 24 hours a day.
I attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa and met my husband there. He works for a big ministry/church in Tulsa as a carpenter. We've been hooked up here since '94.
I am pretty sure we believe the same things. I am a little discouraged right now. It is hard to attend a mega church and keep close ties. I am looking forward to the friendship and encouragement. |

Nice to hear from you Deb!
How do you find homeschooling? I would like to do that with my children. So far we just have a 3 month old. It looks like I may need to go back to work for a short period, but when we have a second child I want to stay home from then.
I can't imagine going to a mega church. We have about 200 ppl in our church and it is just right. We just started a home group in our house last night and it went well.
Hopefully more Christians will join us and we can get a good chat going! |

| Hello everyone, I just found this thread and it caught my eye. Let me tell you a few things about myself. I live in Florida, I have two kids 7 & 17 years old. I have been a stay at home mom for 8 years, but now I am looking to find a job. My husband has been unemployed since October 07, its hard everyday to find the means to get by. My parents are paying our bills now that his umployment has stop. But I see it as this was meant to be and there is something better in his path. I really don't attend church much, I use to about 2 years ago and then when I heard the pastor wife talking negative about someone in the church, wel that alone I couldn't go back. I was raised Catholic but my parents really never implemented that in our lives. They always told us you can pick any religion you want but always remember their is only one God. I use to attend bible study with my neighbor but that has ended and is suppose to restart in August, but I am not sure if I want to go back something just doesn't sit right with me. I do see myself as a Christian and I believe in God and I love Jesus. I try to do my best everyday to walk with him, but its hard. As you can tell I am still trying to better my life and I will continue to seek more. Thanks for letting me tell you about myself. |

Welcome sjuana!
Well, I just got back from hearing Graham Cooke speak. He is an amazing prophet. He gave a great message today about fighting against the enemy. If God is for us, who can be against us?
He is speaking again tonight, so I am off to hear him again with little 3 mo old baby in tow.
Hope you are all having a good day and keeping healthy eating habits!

| Hi Praising-Deb, My wife and I started SB on Monday 6/16. I have 2 boys age 1 and soon to be 4 years old. The Holy Spirit put on my heart the responsibility I have as a father to teach them about Jesus and I realize how important my health is also in staying active with them. I know it will be refreshing to encourage and have christian encouragement in doing this diet. I look forward to hearing from you all. :) |

Hey wchan!
I think you are going through the same thing as me. The bible says that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit and I realized that I am not treating mine well! God wants us to be in good shape.
So folks, let's get some discussion going. What are your churches like? |

Hi Praising and Everyone,
I go to a Catholic church right now, but I feel like the Holy Spirit is leading me to find a church home that is more family oriented. I have been praying and want to be sure this is what GOD want us to do. This is day six and I'm down 5lbs I started at 205. This morning at the gym I was 200lbs. |

| I see that there is not a lot of traffic here on the christian chat. Day 6 and like I've said before the recipes are really flavorfull. I'm not much of a veggie eater but my wife has been fixing them and they are really awsome. We had stewed tomatoes and eggplant. I have been reading and I see where people are having milk in ps1. In the book it says to stay away from all dairy. please enlighten me. Thanks :) |

| Hi Everyone! My name is Kelli and I live in Iowa. I'm a mom of three grown kids and one about to get married! I've been a follower of Jesus for 17 years and I'm seeing some amazing things God is doing in His church. It's nice to see other SB dieters that are God based. This is my 5th day on the plan and I've lost about 6lbs. I wanted to comment to the person who doesn't go to church because of what she over heard the pastor's wife saying. I don't know what was said but obviously it's caused you to stumble in walking with the Lord. We have to be careful about doing that to others. What I suggest is that you try to keep your eyes on Jesus and not on others because we are going to screw up and sometimes screw up big but He will never cause us to stumble. But we can't walk well if we aren't being "fed" God's Word and sharing in fellowship with others - that's where we find encouragement, accountability, and truth. Go to God and tell Him your hurts and frustrations about the incident and then let it go to Him. Then start finding another church or bible study. Just make sure it's biblical truth being taught. Sometimes the enemy doesn't want us to be somewhere because it's causing us to grow in the Lord and he will do whatever he has to to stop you in your tracks. Rise above it all and look upward! |

| Hi Kelli, What you said is so true, We have to focus on Jesus. When we take our eyes off of him and focus on people we will get let down everytime. I was on my way to work and on the side of an 18 wheeler there was a saying, " It's hard to stumble when you are on your knees". It is so true and I believe we have to stay on our knees in prayer to GOD especially in these times. I also believe that GOD is doing wonderful things now and that is why the devil and his demons are causing so much chaos in the world right now, but Jesus will prevail and victory will be his. My wife and I are on day 12 and I've lost 8lbs so far and she (mamaJane) has lost 3lbs. I'm loving eating so healthy. GOD Bless. |

This is a great idea! What better support could we have in losing weight than the support of God? After all, our bodies are temples and it pleases him when we respect and take care of what he gave us.
Thank you so much for making this board! I'm on day 3 of phase 1, hoping to lose about 20 recently accumulated pounds and, more importantly, regain my energy and feel great!
I'm happy to say that my cravings are pretty much banished, and I'm loving this SB way of eating.
Thank you, Jesus! |

| I'm day 7 into phase 1 and so far I've lost about 8 lbs. for which I am so grateful but I need some serious prayer. I've read others who have said that their cravings are gone but I'm wrestling with mine big time. It's not for anything in particular just for food that I ate before this diet - like popcorn, chocolate, ice cream - you know junk food. Some of it is habit -watching a movie and wanting something to munch or just having the munchies. I'm trying to come up with alternative things to munch on but my stomach cant handle alot of chopped veggies on top of what I'm already eating at meals. Sometimes I can almost taste what I use to eat. Prayer and suggestions would soooooo be appreciated right now. |

Hi Kelli - Sounds like you are doing great. I know how you are feeling about the snacks. I have been looking at the recipe board. They do have snacks that sound pretty good. I am going to try the roasted chic peas and the cheese crisps. I am also going to make homemade salsa to go with the cheese crisps. Good luck and let me know what you find.

| Hi Kelli, I make sure that I have enough protein in my diet. I don't know if you like the turkey rollups w/hummus, but I have them for my snack sometimes two times a day. My wife (mamajane) made the chili recipe with ground turkey it was delecious. We followed the book for the meal plan pretty much, there were some things i just couldn't eat. everything so far was delecious. I'll keep you in my prayers. Keep up the good work. :) |
