Hi,
OK, Y'all are going to laugh, but all my exercise videos are just that-VHS tapes! I have had them forever and while I love a few of them-The Cher step tape is my all time favorite and the Kathy Smith Step W/O is great too, my Jane Fonda makes me laugh too much and dear, sweet Richard Simmons is just not enough any more!
I borrowed a Leslie Sansone walking DVD that drove me nuts-too slow and boring.
I would consider myself an intermediate exerciser-I can run three miles without stopping and 5 to 6 with a short walk in the middle.
I usually do 45 -50 minutes of a step workout without stopping, I am a bit winded but OK.
I would love to get a couple of new aerobics type DVD's and maybe some sort of strength training too?
My daughter just got Jackie Warner's One On One W/O and says she loves it. Anyone tried it?
Do you have any DVD's that you just LVE doing? Fun, yet challenging?
I would also like it if there was some good, recognisable music-but I can always put in an 8 track (just kidding - I have CD's!) for the music part! |

| I love the firm tapes. Like you my favorite are on vhs. I do the firm Hare and the firm Tortoise. Their like 15 years old but everytime I buy a new tape and let me tell you I have quite the collection I always go back to those two tapes. I also do Kathy Smith Power Step and the original TaeBo. I bought the Jari Love tapes and their pretty good but being the creature of habit that I am, I keep going back to the same old ones. I lucked out and found replacement firm tapes on ebay (no one sales the hare and tortoise anymore) My first two wore out and I really don't know what I'm gonna do when these two run their course. If you go to collage videos they give good descriptions of any tape your interested in and you can also request a catalog. Good luck to you  |

| I have the older Core Rhythms program-- very fun. You can still get it from Amazon and maybe QVC. Turbo Jam is also a good one-- QVC had that at one point as well. (I don't buy from infomercials.) |

| I got a Turbo Jam on ebay with 5 workouts for 25.00. Buying it on their website was one a piece for around 70.00! I love it. Its got a Lear and Burn section so you can learn the moves. I usually do cardio party and ab jam. I have to say that I did not think I could do it but I got the moves down. It took about 4 times. I have lost almost 2 inches on my waist. I do it on average lately 3 times a week. and doing the diet. I have been doing it for 3 weeks. |

Thanks!
WOW That Collage site is awesome! I must have spent an hour watching all the clips of the different videos!
I hd forgotten The Firm-My daughter had that but took it with her when she moved out-I am going to look into those agai.
OK-NOW-The Core and The Turbo Jam look like SO MUCH FUN! BUT-I am not certain I can actually move like that!!! Still, I have a bit of a dance background so I think I will give, at least one of them a try.
I will check Amazon and E-Bay! |

I didnt think I could either, but I did it. I have to say I read lots of reviews before I bought Turbo Jam. If you have a dance background you can do it. The woman who designed the workouts is a dancer.
I own the one that is called 5 Rockin workouts. Good luck on your search. |

Hi.
I love to exercise with videos. By the way, I think VHS tapes work just fine for some workouts, especially if you don't need to use the chapter features.
I just want to put out there that exercise videos are very much up to an individual's preferences. Some things I've thought I would love just haven't clicked with me for various reasons (like Turbo Jam, for example). So I suggest that if you can, you borrow and try videos out before you buy.
Enjoy! |

Hi,
Yes, I agree that videos can be great-It isn't so much that they are videos per se, but that they are SO OLD! I mean I have literally been doing these for over 15 to 20 years! LOL
I was wondering if joining Netflix or such to try out work out DVD's before I buy them might be a good idea. I have bought videos I was sure I'd like too, only to find I hated them! |

Wow, you must have amazing tenacity and patience compared to me! I get bored and want variety in workout videos.

That's exactly why I brought this up. I've bought so many that I ended up not liking. I think Netflix is a great idea. Some libraries have some good ones too. But I've never seen things like Turbo Jam, Core Rhythms, or Slim in Six at those places.
If you haven't yet, check out the forum on Collage. I've learned a lot there by doing searches and reading the discussions. |

I do Turbo Jam, too! And I'm one of the most uncoordinated people on the planet, so it's an accomplishment for me. :)
If you have digital cable television with the OnDemand feature, there's usually a Sports & Fitness section, under which is a section titled Exercise TV. It's full of free (at least on my cable system) exercise videos, some of which are designed specifically for Exercise TV and others are "real" workout videos like Leslie Sansone, Jillian Michaels, etc. |
