I will be starting June 15. I lost 20 lbs a few years ago. Managed to keep it off, but now I want to lose another 15. I am getting married in less than 8 months and want to look svelt in my dress!

If anybody else is thinking of starting on... ... Friday the 13th! and wants a buddy, let me know!!

I got the new Supercharged book, and I noticed a few more foods are allowed, but it still is pretty much the same. The exercise program looks quite decent also! I plan to do that in the morning and my usual gym routine at night (after work). I am just hoping that it's not too much exertion on my part for the first 2 weeks. I will have to see how it goes.

i actually started today (june 9), but you're the closest person i found to start at a similar time as me

so far i have gagged on the V8 (tried it heated...still eww) and i have burned the Red Bean Mash Cakes..i still need practice with my cooking

a challenge with diets for me has been the fact that i work at a restaurant (Olive Garden), and after a six or eight hour night shift, i'm starving and eat anything i can get my hands on. i guess a grilled ckn breast with veggies or a grilled ckn salad would be a healthy choice at work...anyone else have work-related diet derailments?

i'll see how this week goes...
p.s. my name is also Stefanie :)

Yah....the V8 is not for me either. Extreme gag reflexes going on.
I would prefer to eat the vegetables than drink that stuff!

My biggest problem with the eating is when I'm at my parents house or my fiance's parent's house. They don't have any concept of "healthy eating". I guess they have been trying to get better, but they will say we're having steamed vegetables for a side, which is great with a steak, or whatever, and when I get there - oops, butter fell in. So lately I've been asking for her to just steam them and leave them aside for me with nothing on....it's the little things like that that make me go crazy, because

I feel bad saying no, and plus, we're already there, so I am limited on what I can eat. If I say I'm doing this, it probably will get worse! They'll think I'm not eating or something and try to fill me up more with fillers. But I'm sticking to it, I'm excited to do it, and if it means either bringing my own dinner, hosting dinner at my house, or just not going, I'll have to do that, especially for these two weeks.

Good luck to you! (And I love the soup & salad lunch at Olive Garden - how bad is it, really, for you??)

Olive Garden's soup/salad/bread is a pretty good lunch, but if you want to make it more SBD friendly, skip the bread coated with garlic and butter (maybe in phase 2 ask for plain bread?), have our Minestrone soup, and for the salad we do have a low-fat Italian dressing

planning meals and actually bringing them to where i will be is abig change for me because i have previously been relying on convience foods

best of luck :)

You might find it helps to think of it in terms of your choosing not to eat those other foods (rather than thinking about it as "can eat" or "can't eat"). That way, you're in control. :)

Thanks Magna. That is what I plan to do. I am just going to tell them "Look, I'm doing this for me, it has nothing to do with you. Your food is great but it's just not fitting into my lifestyle at the moment".

I talked with my fiance last night about it because I was thinking about it, and he just told me to do what I need to do. It's nice to have support when you need it! Now I have this board and my fiance so I think I will do good - no - I KNOW I will do good and succeed! :P

Well I've been trying to start phase one of the sbd for about two months now and it seems like things just keep on coming up, this last time I unexpectedly moved to another city for a job right when I started, but now that I am here well lets do this!

Good for you! Your planning and attitude and your fiance's support will really make a difference. :)

I understand where you are coming from! I have 2 weddings and 2 showers coming up in the next 2 months...I just bit the bullet and said the heck with it! I am starting regardless. I am not going to make those times about the food, but more to enjoy the people around me. I don't need all those sweets and the pasta and bread. A salad with some chicken and veggies sound better!

I even offered to bring a veggie/dip platter to one of them, so now I can make sure I eat proper "snacks" while I'm there :P

Hi I started June 10th, its really hard the first 2 weeks but if we can get though this then its smooth sailing on in.

I have done this before and this is my last time as I never want to have to go though phase 1 again.

Hello everyone, well I going back on it again. The first time I tried it I lost about 15lbs and well I was doing good but kinda got off of it, so now I am going at it again. I agree going through phase 1 was tough, I thought I was going to hurt my husband LOL. I had such bad headaches and I was so tired. I wish everyone luck

I work nights in a family style pizzaria and I can totally relate. There is not to much there that is beachy so I end up taking a bunch of snacks with me. I usually don't get much time to eat either. I always take a small bottle of V8 and some nuts. Sometimes I roll lunchmeat around some cheese and cucumber spears. If I have a little bit of protein I can make it through. I also make sure that I eat a salad with some beans before I go. Or some chili. This usually helps to keep my hunger at bay.
I also make sure that I have veggies prepared for when I get home. Sometimes I'm so tired that I just don't want to cook anymore. That's when there's trouble.
Good luck.

I agree with you about being in trouble when there isn't something at least somewhat prepared. I try make my lunch every night, that way it's ready to go in the morning, and I'm not stuck having to go out to buy my lunch. I find that to be very hard, but I am trying to make a vow to just do it the night before.

Keep strong everyone, we can do this!

MsOhara, thanks for the tips. it's a great idea to plan ahead and bring little snacks so i don't give into any other tempations. now i'm doing lite string cheese or nuts, and as of now i'm still trying to stomach the V8. i'm going on day 3 and it's surprising i'm not having my usual sugar cravings as much! 8)
