| Ok, I have a question for all you seasoned SB pros. I didn't realize that phase 1 was not meant for nursing mothers. I am still nursing, however we are down to about 2 times per day. The question I have is, should I start phase 2 a week early, I have been on phase one for exactly 1 week today. I do not find myself craving bread, sweets, and all that. And if I start phase 2, do you have some ideas on how to slowly introduce whole wheat breads and pastas. My weight loss so far is about 5-7 lbs depending upon which scale I use. I am just afraid to start phase 2 and not loose weight. Thank you for your advice. |

If you go to the phase 2 discussion and read the transition thread - you will see that the transition is very slow - adding 1 fruit in week one, 1 grain/starch in week two - honestly, bread and pasta are normally recommended to be some of the last things that you add in - starting out with things like whole grains - brown rice, quinoa, barley, oatmeal. And for sure you should be having the extra dairy.
there's a thread somewhere on here where some nursing moms decided to make it phase 1.5 and forego Dr. A's advice....but that is always and should always be between you and your pediatrician/family doctor. |

| Sounds like you should have started in P2 and should not have been in P1 at all. Is there some reason why you would need to remain in P1, or why you'd need to transition into P2 slowly (such as your doctor's advice)? I agree with DebbyC - go ahead and ask your doctor about this. |
