| I have been on Ph2 for 8 weeks very patiently waiting for my gradual weight loss only to have loss 2 pounds. I seem to be staying very steady with little change up or down. I did follow the transition as written... but alas no further weight loss... Any suggestions? |

| The cheeses - are they LF? If you're not sure, how many grams of fat are in one serving? (And what is the serving size?) |

| I always cook with olive oil... the cottage cheese is lowfat... dressing is usually lite... although I enjoy just olive oil and vinegar quite often as well... I am 5'7"... Swiss cheese is usually just regular Baby Swiss.... |

So have you had a chance to check the labels and see if they are in SBD standards? Some of the "light" dressings have more sugar, baby swiss is not necessarily low fat - Boar's Head brand is 9 gm fat per one ounce serving, Sargento is 5 gm per serving - so it depends. If you're not sure of the facts, you can go to the phase 1 and phase 2 foods to enjoy that's included in each of the stickies for the appropriate phase. A little extra sugar here, and fat there...and are you sticking to the amount of olive oil - amazing how little 1 tbsp is when you're cooking a meal!!! a little on the meat, a little in the pan, a little in the veggie stirfry or the marinade or the salad.
Only saying that about the fat cause I realized the other night when I had 3 pans going that was way over my 1 tbsp for that meal...and there was avocado waiting....bad night for good fats!!! |

| The dressing could be a problem... often dressings that are considered "light/lite" are so because they have less fat, but they frequently add sugar to make up for that flavor. (So it's low fat but even higher in calories.) If you're eating a lot of salad everyday, and using a good amount of dressing, that could be a LOT of extra sugar, which could cause a weight stall. |

and while we don't count calories on this plan, they do add up.
AND the less you have to lose the more they count.
at 5'7" 151 you may or may not have a lot to lose.... |

As far as exercise goes.... I am betting if you are walking 3- 5 miles five days a week.... you've become quite "efficient" at walking and are burning less calories than you were when you first started.
Our bodies get used to doing the same activity day in and day out.... a good idea is to change up your exercise routine every six weeks or so.
Could you throw some "spurts" of running in?
That would help boost your metabolism....
Also how about any strength training?
At least 15 minutes, 3 X weekly is a good idea. Not only will this help boost your metabolism, but it will help with bone density.... (important for us more "mature" women!! ) |

| Can you post more detail on your menu? If you don't have any idea how much dressing you're using, how large the serving of beans is, how much cheese you're eating, etc., that could be part of the problem. That's the general theme of a lot of the above posts: trying to suss out the details of food quantities. |

I appreciate the feedback.... I have started to add short burst of running to my walking routine... however I have to be careful because of the plantar facsitis that I have. The weight lifting is always a good suggestion... I just live on an island and far from a gym where it is easier to do that sort of thing... no excuses tho.. I know I can figure out a way to do it from home.
More details on my menu....
B: 1/2 cup SB cereal
small can V8
Snack: 1/2 cup slice strawberries/ blueberries/ cantalope
1/4 cup lowfat cottage cheese
Lunch: 3 cups spring lettuce, 1/2 cup chop green, red yellow peppers, 1/4 cucumber, 1/4 cup tomatoes, 1/4 cup celery, 1 slice Boars Head oven roasted turkey breast, 1 slice Boars Head Baby Swiss. 1 T Red Wine Vinegar, 1T Olive Oil
1/2 cup Black Beans mixed with chop onions, celery splash Italian Dressing
Dinner: 1 filet of fish, 1/2 cup whole grain rice ( mix of red barley, brown,
rye berries, 1 cup fresh veggie asparagus.... 1 glass red wine....
3 Dark Choc covered almonds occassionally....
Thanks again for all your expertise!! |

| It looks like you aren't doing anything wrong. At your height you're technically not overweight. With very little to lose, it's going to come off very slowly. Age and menopause also slows it down. |
