hi can i have shop bought pesto?
anything i have to watch out for in it?

| Read the ingredients carefully. Pesto should be garlic, olive oil, pinenuts (they sometimes use other nuts instead), basil, parmesan or romano cheese. Look for other added ingredients. |

| The basics of pesto are basil, olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, salt and parmesan or romano cheese. Almost all of those are fine on SB, although the cheese likely won't be low fat, but nothing in pesto is low fat to begin with. I'd just read the ingredients and look for anything suspicious and the fewer ingredients the better usually and just watch serving sizes as it is very calorie dense stuff. I'd probably limit it to a couple tablespoons like a salad dressing. |
