I saw a commercial for this on tv. Would this be an ok choice once in a while? I know it's still pizza, so it's full of fat and such, but it sure would be nice to get some veggie pizza once in a while from here!
Take a look:
http://www.papajohns.com/wheat/index.htm
Quote: The Whole Grain Stamp serves as a "search tool" to help consumers easily identify and select authentic whole grain products. Two types of stamps may be awarded, based on the product ingredients and amount of whole grains—the Basic Stamp and the 100% Stamp. To qualify for the 100% Stamp, a product must provide at least 16 grams (a full serving) of whole grains per serving, and ALL the grains must be whole grains. Extra bran, germ or refined flour may not be added.
We're proud to have received the 100% Whole Grain Stamp.
Our whole wheat crust is made with 100% whole grains, and one serving provides 40 grams or more of whole grains, which is more than 80% of the recommended daily amount of whole grain. We're the first national pizza chain to offer a 100% whole wheat crust at all of our U.S. restaurants. |

i would have it. i've had WW pizza from Cosi before.
just take into account that it's full fat cheese and add veggies and have ONE slice...
of course an actual pizza delivery night usually means going off plan for me as I have more than one slice. |

| Yeah, I know that ordering extra cheese and meats all over it would totally blow SB out of the water. But the fact that a pizza place recognizes that consumers want 100% whole grain? Awesome! I hope more places start going to that! |

If anyone tries this, please post and let us know how it is. I am afraid to order it. I love pizza and could chow on the whole thing.
Too bad they don't have LF cheese to pair with it.
baby steps................... Maybe someday. |

| I had this last night and it was awesome, of course ate too much of it. There was no ingredients on the box of what the crust was made out of, so I don't know if it had enriched flour or not. It didn't taste that much different from the regular crust. |

On the website they say:
Quote: What does 100% whole wheat mean?
A 100% whole wheat product has been made with ALL whole grains versus multiple refined grains, refined flours or other partial mixes. Papa John's whole wheat crust is made with 100% whole wheat flour.
So I don't think they do. |

You know, you could order a cheeseless pizza and add your own cheese at home. Just order all the veggies on it, tell them to hold the cheese, and broil it in your own oven just long enough to melt the cheese you put on it.
Of course, I'm like nessa....I can't eat just one piece of pizza. It would be a cheat night either way. |

I ordered this last night and it was tres bien!
The crust seems very moist, for pizza. It definitely doesn't taste the same, and it doesn't get crunchy like the regular stuff. It could be that they didn't cook it long enough though. |

| It sounds good! The stats above look very low in sat fat, even. They might still be working out the cooking time/temps or something, since it's new. |

| we had it the other night....I don't like papa johns pizza taht much and I remembered why....for what it's worth, I also don't like pizza hut or any of the other local fast food pizzas. I miss Mazzio's pizza in OKC or a good brick oven pizza. I think I may have to search for a ww pizza recipe on the board and try my own luck. Can't be anyworse than those others!!! |

I know that this is far from the best, btu when I'm in the mood for pizza in a hurry, I sometimes have the <a http="http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/Products/ProductInfoDisplay.htm?SiteId=1&Product=7192101267>Thin Crust Supreme Pizza</a>, frozen, from Kraft... in the States it's called Digiorno, in Canada it's called Delissio. I'd rather be able to read all the nutrition info than go o a pizza place with even more questionable ingredients. I didn't think this was so bad...
