Well, I'm about halfway through my first week of P2 and I seem to be hungry all the time now. I'm not having cravings for specifc foods and in fact it was my son's birthday this weekend and we had cupcakes. I kept looking at those cupcakes and said to myself...why not, it's just one and I've been wonderful this whole time. I took one bite of that cupcake and put it down because I just couldn't see how it was really worth it. But I did have that one bite and I'm not sure if it completely sabatouged me. I've been making sure that I'm getting enough protein at each meal and getting tons of veggies also. The only grains I've eaten so far is sweet potato (baked), and some Uncle Sam/Kashi Go Lean cereal. I have not added fruit yet as I'm not a big fan of it.
So, I'm asking the long-timers. Any reason why I am so hungry all the time now? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. As I said before, not craving carbs or anything...just hungry overall. |

Are you still taking your snacks. They are mandatory in P1 and optional in P2, but some people need them, including myself.
It's Ok if you're hungry, just EAT anything from the approved list!
This is NOT a STARVING diet.
It's possible too that even though you're eating your proteins and veggi, perhaps you're eating smaller portions. Make sure you have at least a salad AND cooked veggie. Some people only eat one or the other and it's fine if you eat at least 2 cups with lunch and dinner and 1/2 cup for breakfast.
I also suggest you reintroduce some other cereal like old fashion oat meal that seems to stick to your ribs longer AND you should eat a protein with your complex carb like the cereal.
Good luck, |

Oh, I'm definately getting my snacks. :D I try to get a protein in with each snack if possible (LF deli ham slices, cheese stick, HB egg, or something to that effect) or nuts, along with a veggie with each snack. I did not have protein with my cereal though yesterday so that is something to add.
I just feel like I'm eating all the time now and it makes me nervous. I know I just need time to adjust to this new way of eating but I still second-guess myself. I'm happy that I'm not having raging cravings though. My daughter had this big bag of chips she was munching on and chips are my snack of choice over everything. I didn't have any big yearning to eat any besides the "hmmm...those would be really good right now" feeling. So that was nice.
Plus, my weight has been fluctuating up and down two pounds this whole week and the increased feelings of hunger don't help LOL. I've read this forum extensively and I recognize that a few pounds may reappear once you start P2. Understanding it logically is one thing, understanding it emotionally is another. :)
My big whine here is just really a need for some support to help me get through this I guess. My honey who is doing this with me is doing awesome. He is down 16 pounds too and doesn't seem to be experiencing this issue. I think I'm just a little jealous!
Sorry for the book above. Just wanted to rant a bit. Been thinking I should start my own journal so I can get my rants out on a regular basis. :P |

Is it possible you're nervious about something and/or you're experiencing PMS? Either one of those will make you hungry.
Hang in there, just EAT "legal" food. |
