Hello! I've been doing the SBD and lurking around the boards for about 2 weeks now. I started with P1 and after the first week I was so sick I just skipped to P2. I have about 10 pds I want to lose and I exercise regularly so I figured I'd start at P2. Well, I've always been a healthy eater. I was on WW's for over a year and learned to eat properly with the exception of all the sweets I was eating every day. That's why I decided to start the SB. I'm definitely feeling better now and more in control than I was.
I've been reading a lot on this board the past week and tried some of the food suggestions. I tried the Uncle Sam cereal last night. Until then I've been eating Fiber One Honey Clusters. I don't think they are SB approved so I didn't buy any more of those. Well... Uncle Sam's is a bit different. I guess I'll get used to the taste. I added a touch of SF vanilla syrup to it for some flavor. Any other suggestions? I tried Dannon L&F carb & sugar control yogurt reminds me a little of drinking Mylanta or something similar to that! I know it's a small price to pay for good health! I have it with breakfast. Question.. is it ok to stretch breakfast out like over a 2 hour span rather than eat it all at once or is that considered breakfast and a snack? :)
How do you stop at just 20 peanuts? I think that has been the biggest problem for me. I no longer take the jar with me to work so that's a step in the right direction! lol
Thanks everyone! I love that I found this board and find the info invaluable. :)

I've been wondering the same thing about breakfast. It was getting harder and harder to drink a v8 and eat a protein with my cereal in the a.m. The tastes just do not mix. So I started eating the cereal when I woke up and the v8 and cheese stick (usu) when I got to work.
Hope you get an answer! |

Uncle Sam cereal tastes OK but there are others I prefer, so my solution is to eat those instead. My preferred brand is Trader Joe's store brand of high-fiber cereal, which is similar to All-Bran but crispier.
Careful of the carb-control yogurt, though. Yogurt should have no sugar added, but milk has natural sugars in it that are helpful in maintaining energy levels. You may be getting too hungry because the yogurt doesn't have enough of the good stuff in it. Plus, you don't like the taste. If I were you, I'd ditch it and get either some LF/NF NSA yogurt or add flavorings to LF/NF plain yogurt. Or eat something else, like LF/NF cottage cheese. |
