I had shared here earlier this week that I'd had good...no make that excellant success with SB, exercise etc. in lowering my fasting blood glucose. I had to go back for a blood-draw to check the cholestrol as well and might add that my doctor was VERY, VERY pleased with my successes there as well. I don't have my #'s as I didn't write them down and I have to wait for them to be posted on-line. She told me she doesn't consider me to be "pre-diabetic" anymore but would say I'm still insulin resistant. She told me to keep up the good work!! I'm just so very much encouraged and wanted to share that here. :D
South Beach has worked the best for me after trying Weight Watchers, a low-fat (Thin and Healthy) diet!!

Congratulations!!! I'm sure you see it on the scale and feel it when you wear your clothes, but when your GP is delighted - well, that's just the cherry on top.

Keep up the most excellent work!

That is great news...and encouraging. I have found Weight Watchers to be toooooo easy to eat junk type food on...you could count the points but feel lousy....

I also found the same thing with Weight Watchers. I truly took the "you can eat anything you want" to heart on that diet. I would stay within my points but if you read my journal it was all junk. That's why I am loving SB - I am really learning how to eat. :D

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking around and all your stories, advices have helped me get my act together and finally give SB a worthy shot. I am proud to say that I have started the diet on June 5th and I have lost 10 lbs so far (26 to go!). I have been following the diet religiously! I found this very useful grocery list (maybe on this forum I think but if anyone is interested I can post it again).

I am really proud of myself and it's sometimes hard because I don't always feel I have the support around me (everyone is always bahhhhhh you're fine, you've always been like that, why do you need a diet and stuff like that). I am getting healthier and I can feel it. But it's funny, nobody hasImagine, I've even prepared a projection chart to predict my progress according to each time I weight myself so it helps me see that it is feasible. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you to you all, we don't know each other but you've all helped me getting started, thank you so much.

***** update 12 pounds! wow... that's a little fast though....******* Question: if I stay longer on phase 1, will the weight loss continue to be that fast?
