So I'm starting this a bit late. I'm on Day 8 of P1. So far I'm down 3.5 lbs (as of a few days ago) but I have promised myself I will not weigh again until next Thursday when I start P2.
So the first week I started off strong. Doing really well. Then the past 2 days I've had cravings for lots of food. I think T.O.M. is coming and that's probably the cause, but nonetheless, I decided to put my food into Fitday.com to see how many carbs, protein, fat and cals I'm getting and I was sHOCKED at how many calories I'm taking in! So apparently I'm doing too much of a good thing (2800 cals) and I need to revamp my food choices. For some reason I was under the impression that as long as its P1 friendly, I could have as much as I wanted.
Background on me: I'll be 36 next month. I have 4 year old and 2 year old daughters. I work fulltime for a major pharma company and I bake cakes (yes, bake cakes) at home for my part time business. I go to school at night for my Masters and I am also a Home Interiors consultant.
Before kids my hobbies were: shopping, eating, bowling, and running. I was training for a 1/2 marathon before I got pg with DD#1. I now run about 3 days a week and try to walk 2 of the other 4 days. I do anywhere from 1-3 miles and I have a 5 mile race coming up this Saturday morning.
I like veggies and the lack of fruit is just killing me. I LOVE my fruit, esp. this time of the year so I'm glad I started P1 when I did. I will get to enjoy some fruit in moderation. Smoothies are my favorite! I've never been a particularly unhealthy eater...I just like to eat a LOT. And to make matters worse, my husband is an amateur chef and he cooks better than any restaurant I've ever eaten at! He does NOT cook LF though because the guy has the highest metabolism I've ever seen. So its very hard to have great food in the house all the time and not be able to eat it.
My focus is going to be on slow and steady wins the race. Now watching portion control to see how the rest of this week affects my weight loss.
Breakfast today: egg white omelette w/ tomato, spinach, ham & LF cheese
1 cup coffee w/ half n half (I can't do skim or regular milk) and splenda
1 cup tea w/ splenda |
