Help!!!! I've been very good since Feb. 24th. Then 3 days ago and I completley fell apart. Went up-north to visit my mother-in-law with my husband. No she didn't cook, we ate out. I need words of wisdom PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Alammy,

Life happens! The good thing is SBD is easy to get back to. First question you have to ask..."Am I having carb cravings?" If the answer's yes...you know what to do...hit phase I for a week to banish them! If the answer's no, maybe just do phase I for a few days, then back on phase II.

Remember to drink lots of water, and maybe try to get out and get some exercise...that will take care of the "feeling fat".

Hope this helps 8)

Don't beat yoursself up. At least you have recognized/acknowledged this and now you can correct it easily. It's never too late to reverse things!
You can do it!!!!!! :D

Hi,
Honestly I don't think you caused as much damage as you think. So you cheated, I cheat all the time - but you just have to put everything back into perspective, remember why you are doing this, and move forward. No big deal. When I cheat I don't beat myself up about it - this is my body and my diet and if I eat something that I shouldn't I just tell myself to wake up the next morning with a clean slate and eat the right foods. With all the times I have cheated I have still continuously lost weight. And you do have to enjoy yourself sometimes so you don't feel deprived, that is a diet killer. I think you will be fine !

:D Wow, I could just cry, I am so happy to have those words of encouragement. I would have given those same words to someone else but when it is you and you are feeling those emotions, it's different. Even though you know what to do, it really helps to hear it from people who have been there. I am off to exercise now, then I will boil some eggs for a snack today. Back to phase 1. Thanks again!!

I cheated this weekend too, visiting in laws from out of town and out to eat SEVERAL times. I found the food was easy to stick to...a feta cheese and veggie omlette one morning, chicken ceasar salad for supper, BUT it was that incredible, best I ever had, homemade pina colada sitting outside by the beach that was a big mess up. Then the desserts at a party the other day, stuck to meat and veggies but when we got to the peanut butter pie and left over wedding cake from my wedding, I had a piece of each (albeit smallish) and then popped a few mint candies to boot. We were also starving on the long five hour drive with no smart food packed ahead, so I nibbled on snackwells crackers at 10 grams of carbs in like 5...I tried to keep it mellow, not eat too many...at a fast food place I chose a cheese burger and picked the bun off and a side salad...sometimes when you are starving, broke, have a bunch of tired kids in the back of the van, and in the middle of a long commute, well, its hard to make all the best choices. That said, Alammy...this diet is a way of life and really different because I woke up and just got back on it, no muss no fuss, no beating myself up...its just life and you carry on. I am not a big loser in the phase 1 period, so I am staying on P1 indefinetly, I am not bored, and I feel that I will suddenly drop some weight a month or two in. I have lost some, before TOM my clothes felt a bit better. :-) So lets just get past the weekend and move on. Don't undo all the good you have done since FEBRUARY! Congrats that you made it this long with no cheats! Very Good! Have a wonderful P1 week, and just be glad you can go back to something that is so healthy...and keep on keeping on...

Yes, Sky, I agree. It is life and you just go on. Sometimes we just have to re-group, like me today. I am back on track. Exercized, had my turkey bacon, eggs and lowfat cheese for breakfast, then a salad for lunch. Chicken breast with Asparagus fresh from my mom-in-law's garden for dinner!!! :D I am so thankful for all who belong to this message board what a fabulous support system it is!!! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
