I did print the guidelines for P2 with respect to the foods. But for those of you long-term folks who have done so well, please share some of the staples of your grocery list with me (aside from fruits and veggies).
Thanks! |

Besides some of the things on wiley's list, the items I can think of to add are:
dried apricots
dried apples
spaghetti sauce
jarred roasted red peppers
high-fiber or whole-grain cereal
WW pasta (to eat occasionally)
WW pita
pistachios
imitation crab in packages (I stock up when it's on sale)
NF Greek yogurt
LF cheddar cheese sticks
Old Bay seasoning (good general seasoning for seafood)
olive or canola oil cooking spray
various bulk herbs
walnut oil
Is there a particular store you're considering shopping in? Trader Joe's or Costco, for example? There are lists of people's favorite foods that certain stores sell. |

I posted this before, and didn't read through it all, so forgive me if something is a repeat:
Ditdah wrote: I like the "stay around the edge of the grocery for most of your needs" idea.
Produce:
Veggies, veggies, veggies! Everything that looks good, everything that's on sale. (Except lettuce. I hate when it goes bad, so I pick that up day of.)
Apples (I like gala and fuji)
Berries (when in season)
Meat:
Lean ground beef
Ground turkey and/or chicken breast
Fresh and frozen fish
Turkey pepperoni
Lean steaks
Chicken breast
Turkey bacon
Canadian bacon
Dairy:
1% milk
ff plain yogurt
tons of 2% cheese
light string cheese (YUM!)
lowfat cottage cheese
ricotta
hummus
Frozen foods:
berries (no sugar added)
any plain veggie mixes (lots and lots)
nsa fudgesicles
light coolwhip
Then hit the inside aisles briefly:
canned beans
canned tomatoes
broths
tuna
irish oatmeal
pickles!
sf jello and pudding mixes
Splenda
Sheesh - that's a long list. And not inclusive! |
