Hi folks! Good to be here and read everyone's stories. I'm on day 3 of the SBD. I've been keeping track of my food and stuff on Blogspot. I also quit drinking and smoking, so I'm trying to do it all. I know people say stick to one thing, but I love my beer and SB doesn't permit it, esp. in Phase 1. And if I drink, then I just want to smoke. So it really all goes together.

Anyway, I'm 37, 5'8", and started at 198. Once I saw the scale hit 200, my BMI hit 30, and that's "clinically obese". That was kind of a wake up call. So today I'm actually 195, and back into just "overweight". My goal is 165, so I've got 30 pounds to go.

It hasn't been all that hard so far, but I've been exhausted. And I miss my afternoon Coke. And now I have the next 5 days off, so I'll probably miss beer, pizza, and smoking. But I'm really determined. I don't have to stop drinking forever, and someday I'll have pizza again.

For now, I'm following the plan.

Hi there. I am also new to SB and an exsmoker for 2 months. I think that there is wisdom in your approach, as one certainly has to watch their weight while quitting smoking, and Phase 1 seems to be a great way of decreasing cravings for sweets. I joined SB because I started to gain after smoking: a combo of low energy plus lots of sweets and baked goods had me piling on the pounds. I hit a magic number that I didn't like, so here I am.
Good luck.

Hi Mossi!

Oh, yeah, I couldn't drink any alcohol if I were trying to quit smoking. Definitely, bust them both out together. 8)

This is my first week, too. Congratulations on your success this week!
