Hee! No, it's not sad that you're excited about going there; there's one about an hour north of here and while I really, really want to go, I have to talk myself out of it cause I KNOW I'd spend way too much, and my spice cabinet is already bursting with Penzey's containers. :)
I haven't tried any of the cheese blends, but I have tried the Creamy Peppercorn mix. I wasn't crazy about it as a salad dressing, but it wasn't bad as a blend to mix in with burgers. They sent me a sample of their Sandwich Sprinkle and it tastes great, but it's REALLY heavy on the salt. As far as their other blends go, I like the Chicago Steak Seasoning mixed with ground turkey for burgers, and the Mural of Flavor on various vegetables. I also recommend their sausage seasonings for things other than sausage; I use the bratwurst seasoning on veggies sometimes, and have made turkey "bratwurst" burgers with it, as well. |
