Hi friends! I started phase 2 last week and need a buddy to keep me going! I have a goal I REALLY want to reach by the end of July, it's a only a half way point, but I would still like to meet it! I have about 50 lbs I want to lose and can always use the encouragement! I'm always looking for new recipes, food suggestions, meal plans..that kind of thing. So having someone to do this with, would be great!

There are some weekly groups ongoing - ours is 4/21/07 - tho we're not really active anyone is welcome to join in. Read thru some of the threads, like 4/21, 4/18, gabby gathering, and you're likely to find someone compatible! p2 is so fluid it's easy to jump into a thread and start chatting!

Hi!
I'm starting Phase 2 tomorrow!! I can use a buddy too! I am still not sure if I'm losing any weight. The last time I decided to lose weight (not SBD) I developed an obssession with planning, counting cals and exercising (it didn't work either) so I avoid scales, meal logs, diet diarys etc. It's really frustrating but it was really effecting my mental health so I am slowly relaxing about the whole deal.. I used to think and plan all day long about my next meal and I totally abandoned school work, family and friends. This time I decided to take it easy (as much as I can) and my expectations are low so if I lose any weight at all I'll be super happy! Tomorrow I'm reintroducing apples to my meals. I was expecting much more cravings for it today. I'm actually more excited about the wild asparagus omlete I'm having for breakfast :) How did your first Phase 2 week go? Did you lose any weight? Do you exercise? I will gradualy increase exercise back to 6 times per week but I'm trying not to stress about it :D !

Hi! Well 'm definitely up for being your SB buddy! This is my second time doing the SBD. I started at the beginning of January and lost 20 lbs and then broke up with my boyfriend and gained 8 lbs back. So I'm getting back on track now! When I did this a couple of months ago, I just like you, became obsessed with it! I did the Phase 1 for 5 weeks, instead of 2 and was terrified of adding carbs back into my diet. I basically had a break down and realized I wasn't helping myself my making myself crazy. I worked out like crazy and counted every calorie that went into my mouth. So I think we both have that crazy thing going on..lol :) This time, I'm trying to take a different approach to it. I've tried to not freak out so much. I've reintroduced some carbs back into my diet. I've been having a 1/2 c. of oatmeal each morning for breakfast and a 4 oz fiber one yogurt for my mid morning snack and I've even added a piece of fruit. Which, I now realize was definitely too much too soon. So this week, I've backed off. I guess I was soooo carefull last time and drove myself so crazy, that I figured I didn't have to be that careful this time. But anyways, I had my "friend" last week and with a few chocolate cravings, I only lost 1 lb. So oh well, I'm not going to stress over it. A loss of 1 lb is better than a gain of 1 lb! So this week, I'm watching my carbs carefully and will eventually add more in.

I do exercise. I go to the gym 5 - 6 times a week and right now I'm obsessed with my spinning classes!! You burn so many calories! But on days I don't take spin, I do the elliptical for 45 minutes and usually do some abs. I have to get back into doing weights. But that's really all I do. Once I've lost a little more, I'll get more into exercises for toning.

So anyways, there's a little about me. Anything you want to know, just ask! I'm an open book!

How did your first day on P2 go? Was that apple the best thing you've ever tasted? lol. When I did p1 for 5 weeks the first time, I never thought I liked oatmeal that much until the first day I had it for breakfast....it was like heaven in oatmeal form! But that could have just been because I deprived myself for so long! Hope your first day went well!

Hi!
Well my first apple was kind of dissappointing. Maybe it just wasn't the right kind, I didn't even finish it. I was way happier with tofu and zucchini for lunch. I'll try a more sweeter kind and see what happens. I actually felt weird in my stomach after this one. Maybe it was to sour or something. If it feels weird tomorrow I'm changing my fruit.. Next week I'm up to 2 fruit servings daily. And then when I feel comfortable enough (I'm still so sceptical and afraid of failing again) I'll add bran cereal with unsweetened soy milk for breakfast. I don't even think about bread, pasta, rice or potatoes..
Exercise.. The one good thing about the past 6 months of my obssessive behavior is exercise. I started loving it. So.. No problem there. In this 'transition' phase I'm doing 40 mins on the stationary bike 3times/week or go jogging with my boyfriend (20mins). I'm also horse riding (1h) twice per week. I try to be active in general.. I'll return to weight lifting next week or maybe even later (I'm trying to avoid the pre-summer crowd at the gym).
I'm so happy I can get on with my life.. These last few months were so numb. All I could think about was food, calories, exercise etc. I was so miserable. I was crying a lot. Not because I have a few extra pounds but because I was putting so much of my time and energy into 'my new lifestyle' with nothing to show for.. Now I can study for exams and have time for myself. I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend again (the poor guy:)) before I was always annoyed with him (he can eat anything and stays thin).
What foods do you enjoy the most? I'm really loving fresh veggies for snacks (green peppers, sprouts, kohlrabi, cucumbers..)! I'm not really a meat person, I do skinless chicken breasts and thats about it. I eat a lot of white fish. And if I'm bored with eggs for breakfast I blend together LF cottage cheese, LF yogurt and artificial sweetner. Not really a fan of beans. Nuts on the other hand are a big problem for me. I just can't control myself. I never eat just 15 :D So I don't buy them often.
I haven't tried any SBD recipes yet. Not really sure where to start. Any good suggestions?
