Today was my very 1st day on South Beach and so far so good, I'm not hungry at all and my meals tasted great (I am trying to follow the meal plans exactly) I'm not too sure what I can drink with my meals and can I drink throughout the day. I know H2O is ok, but what else is there? Is diet caffine free soda ever ok?

Crystal Light is great - the orange flavored one really helps with not being able to down some oj. I love adding a lemon wedge in the water. I read that Dr. A. said it helps slow digestion as well. Decaf coffee and tea are allowed. I have not given up my 2 cups of full steam coffee in the am and I either drink water or Fresca in the evening.

... water, lots of it - but drink water BEFORE or AFTER you eat - otherwise you're just diluting the process of mixing saliva (gross I know) with your food in your mouth - that's what chewing is! ... it's the first part of the digestion process -

Diet soft drinks are fine. You'll want to limit the caffeinated ones. You can also have iced tea. Green tea has less caffeine than black tea, but both are reported to have health benefits. You might try making iced tea at home using flavored tea bags and keeping it in the fridge.
