Hi everyone!!I am a newbie to the board. I have lost 11 pounds on phase 1 and was nervous about phase 2. I am very active working out 6 days a week in advanced level classes. I have been on phase 2 for a week/lost 1 more pound.....HOWEVER, I woke up this morning two pounds heavier!!I am really upset about this. I have been weighing morning/night just to get familiar with my weight. So, needless to say...this morning is very different from the norm.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
Yesterdays meals
Brkfst: decaf/sugar free cofee/SBD phase 2 diet bar
Snack: lowfat cheese stick w/crystal light drink
Lunch:Chef salad/egg/deli meat/low sugar ranch/unsweet tea
Snack: 1/4 of an apple
dinner: lean ground beef burger with shrooms/swiss with salad on side |

Can I respectfully offer a suggestion?
Nessa is right, it probably is water weight but here is my 02 cents worth.
Don't weigh yourself every day. You will drive yourself nuts! Try for once a week. I know that it is hard but the numbers jump too much depending on TOM, hormones, water weight and so forth.
Breakfast- Ditch the diet bar. I am hearing that those are to be used in an emergency only. Can you replace the bar with something a little bit more "pure" and not processed? There are so many great recipes out there for SBD breakfast foods.
How is your water intake? i noticed that you mentioned Crystal light. Is there any more water intake in your daily menu?
Can you push more veggies in your menu somewhere?
Maybe have the apple with cheese stick in the AM and veggies with hummus for afternoon snack? Small can of V8 for breakfast?
Good luck! post back and let us know how you are doing. |

Thanks to you both!! The weight gain fluctuated back down.
Also, thanks for the tip on the bars!!! I have about 7 zillion boxes.....didnt realize that was not a great brkfst meal option. I drink tons of water but lately, been more slack then usual. Great suggestions. I love this site!!!!
Another site I have grown to love is
kalynskitchen(dot) blogspot ( dot)com/

Yes, I enjoy Kaylins website too. I use her recipes at least once a week. The food is good and easy to make. You don't need to be a master chef to follow her recipes. I highly reccomend her. She updates alot too!
As far as the diet bars, I give them to my kids and DH for snacks at school. Hang on to a few for those emergency uses for yourself. Its not that they are "bad", they just aren't something you want to eat on a daily basis. My opinion only but I have read others who have said the same thing on the boards.
Good luck! |

I agree with everyone about the bars. I also thought that since they said "South Beach Diet" on them, they were fine for a meal. But I also had trouble losing.
Now I save the bars for those "on-the-go" times when I need to have lunch away from home, but don't want to eat out. They save me from fast food.
Also, since you have so many of them, maybe try cutting them into smaller pieces and have one at a time for a snack |

generally a bad assumption. The program existed long before the branded foods did. They are not required or even particularly helpful. Personally, I'd look at the nutritonal label and ingredients list like any other packaged food product and make your determinations accordingly. |

| OMG... I have been eating a sbd bar every morning for brkfst. That is not south beach appropriate???? I workout in the am and eating "normal brkfst makes me ill. I am shocked. What makes it a bad option?? Thanks |
