I wouldn't recommend doing this. P1 is only supposed to be short term and is not even technically "weightloss" per sey. It is water weight. Also, Dr. A does not advise staying on P1 more than 2 weeks at all unless you are morbidly obese and have over 100 pounds to lose.

You will want to reintroduce your grains/fruits slowly ~ one per day for the first week; two per day for the second week; etc., etc. This is where your real weightloss starts.

I wish you well on your journey and look forward to reading about your success.

It's a common fear/issue, but the real program and healthy eating is in P2 and yes your weight loss will stall or reverse for a few weeks. oh well... it's a lifetime program, you'll get there eventually.

Also please pick an appropriate forum to post in. The only thing in the Journals forum should be individual journals. topical posts should go in whatever main forum heading makes the most sense. this one seemed appropriate for the P2 forum for instance.

So, everything you lose in Phase I is water weight?

I guess that makes sense - I'm losing weight too, but I have been taking measurements of my arms, waist, thigh, calfs, etc - and not many of them have gone down except the waist (water weight).

That is actually a little disappointing......... Oh well, I guess I'll get there some time...

Not everything. It seems to vary by person. But I'd say it's a safe bet no one under ordinary circumstances can really lose 10 pounds of fat in 2 weeks, unless they were extremely overweight to begin with.

You can be as overweight as can be but you still need to cut 3500 calories for every pound of lost fat. Pretty tough to do that to the tune of 10lbs in two weeks.

The whole idea is to get into this healthy eating style, and phase 1 is meant to be temporary. The weight will just come back if you don't want to learn this new lifestyle which includes fruit and starches. If you lose a lot of weight and then go back to "normal" it's not gonna do you any good.
It's better to get to know the fruit and the grain slowly.
