just curious - I eat my veggies / nuts etc. but I love my meat... does 'eating until satisfied' still apply on phase two or do I have to ration? The book doesn't really seem to mention it...
Thanks in advance |

As long as you still are eating your 4 1/2 cups minimun of veggies and you are adding very slow your starchy carbs, if you're still hungry, then go ahead and have a second serving of proteins.
Protein is still unlimited in P2 and you should eat until you're satisfied, but you should try to be satisfied by eating a second serving of veggies first.
Enjoy, |

| 3-4 oz. of "meats" is considered a serving of protein. While technically unlimited, at some point portion control does matter. As Ami points out, the recommendation for eating proteins at meals is to start with a serving as part of your regular balanced meal with min. 2 cups of veggies and side starch/grain if you are at that point in your P2 menus, and then if still hungry, use vegetables first to add more volume and provide a "satisfied" feeling. If still hungry, then add more proteins. veggies are much less calorie dense, but the proteins will trigger more feelings of being satisfied to your brain. |

| Thanks Red - I think I am overeating the protein, especially with things like steak - so perhaps that is why I'm not seeing the scales move so much since starting phase two.... I'll tweak the ratios a bit and add in some legumes to fill me up |

| I eat more protein than that most dinners, but I'm a guy! ;) Still, never hurts to tweak and experiment and see if changing things up has an effect.. |
