I did okay until bedtime when I came across that d@#$ box of candy - 1 piece. I'm throwing the rest of it in the trash tomorrow!!!

This is the Ethel M candy? You mentioned asking for dark chocolate. Just a suggestion - feel free to take or leave it - but you might consider asking for dark chocolate bark and when you get it, cutting or breaking it into smaller pieces. Maybe even putting those smaller pieces in individual bags and refrigerating them. That way, you can have a bit every day, if you want. Another suggestion: if, after asking for dark chocolate you still get a box of regular candy, I'd consider giving it away unopened to someone who doesn't have a weight problem and who would appreciate a nice gift.

I told my SO to tell his mom that I really like the plain dark choc bars...but you're right, next time I'll just take it to the office - or put it in my gift stash. I've got dark chocolate that my son bought me at Easter and I've nibbled away 4 squares...it's just a mental think with the Ethel M....gawd I love that stuff!!!

Its funny how I swore that yesterday would be back to normal, but it ended up being the worst yet.

I had 2 final exams yesterday....one at 10 and one at 2 (each is 3 hours long).

I overslept and woke up at 9:30....so I SPRINTED to the exam room and got there at 9:52. I hadn't eaten anythign and knew I needed something in order to stay focused---the only thing within sight was a box of donuts that they brought in. So 1.5 chocolate glazed donuts later (AND I DONT EVEN LIKE DONUTS) i was in my exam. Then i finished that and had 1 hour to be at my next exam. I went to find soething to eat that was at least a salad or something, but pretty much everything was already gone from the cafe next door. the ONLY thing left was a bagel with breaded chicken and mayo etc. I felt like the sbd devil was out to get me yesterday. And then by last night, my stomach hurt so much from the food I ate all day that all I could manage to eat without pain was rice and a baguette. toay wasn't much better, either---all I had time to grab was a luna bar and a yogurt. Not as bad as yesterday, but bad enough that my stomach is killing me. but shockingly, after 5 days now, my skinny jeans still fit. So i guess not too much noticeable damage was done (in terms of inches), so I'm SERIOUSLY getting back to business tomorrow. I have no morning exam, so no reason to oversleep and then be completely screwed food-wise.

Hi Heather 87!

I've been where you are and someone on this board told me this..."Life happens!" So don't be discouraged. Remember this is a way of life and as such, you will fall from time to time. It's what you do afterwards that determines how well you do regarding your weight. I lost almost 25lbs on SB the first year I started, and I fell SEVERAL times! I went MIA for a while and then I just quit altogether. Well, after getting my eyes opened by my Doc recently and spending a lot of money on a program to produce rapid weight loss, it occurred to me that I felt my best, and had a much better level of success on SB! By better level I mean even though I was changing the way I eat, I did not feel bad, I did not feel hungry, and I had energy! Oh yeah, on top of that, I was losing weight!

So, your exams are a part of your life right now. More than likely, you WILL have another day like today, but how well you prepare and plan, will determine how you handle the next time this happens. Just keep going and good luck! See ya around the boards! :)
