Hi there - I am on the third day of the plan and doing great except for the cheese! By my second snack - I try to have a mozzarella cheese stick and be satisfied - but I always need more. I just scarfed down four of them! They are low fat and the list says to enjoy as much as you want of the protein group - but I am wondering if this is throwing me off track? Also - I did SB a few months back, and had the same problem the first few days where i was sooo hungry. and then it subsided. Is this all normal????

With protein such as cheese, you should eat a serving and then wait a few minutes (people recommend 10-20) to see whether you want more. That's assuming you're also eating vegetables and drinking enough to help fill you up.

If you're still hungry after a meal or snack, my suggestion would be (in order):
1. Have a drink.
2. Have a snack of vegetables (maybe with some good fats).
3. Have a snack with protein (maybe with some good fats).

Good fats, such as good vegetable oils, olives, avocados, or nuts, will help you feel full, but you don't need large servings of them.

No - just keep going. You may also want to drink more water and get a little extra fiber, too. Too much cheese/protein may slow your weight loss, but it won't cause or contribute to cravings.

Worst yet, for some people cheese is a binding and you end up with constipation. The key is moderation. Try 1 oz. per serving, then have maybe another type of cheese for the next snack/meal.

Good luck,

True - this is why I was discreetly suggesting extra water and fiber. ;)

You should start with 1oz. per meal and 1 oz. per snack if you're having any. 1 oz. = 1 slice or 1 stick of mozzarella cheese, or about 1/4 cup of ricotta or cottage cheese.

You actually need to find out what works for you

Consider having LF or NF cottage cheese at least some of the time. I enjoy it and it really keeps me fueled up. Also, there's more water in it than in mozzarella or other hard cheeses, so it's less likely you'll gulp it down without noticing.
