UH OH you say? yeah... sushi rolls are definitely not SB friendly, but I don't feel guilty or that I cheated. I have been following SB really closely, my P1 will be done tomorrow (i am LOVING P1 as my belly has slimmed nicely down), and excited to transition to P2.

I'm not going to beat myself up over it, i absolutely love sushi and it was a nice lunch w/ coworkers that I have been looking forward to for a long time. I didn't over eat (too much... :)), and tried to still fill my plate w/ most veggies and protein. Then tonight, tomorrow, etc... right back on track

How do other people out there handle situations like this? I'm curious to see how this will reek havoc on my body chemistry/hormones by just having one meal.

I don't think it's an issue for beating oneself up - or that one meal will create havoc....I think it's more a matter of making a personal choice of eating 'clean' or not and then dealing with it. Some people may lose great while not using the bascis of the plan, others find a stall with any bleep off the allowed food list. I'm still learning my way and i know sushi will have to be much farther down the line for me, I tend to be one of those - it didn't hurt that time, so I'll do it again - cause I love food and any excuse to go get good food has been all I've needed - and from my profile - it's obviuos how THAT worked out for me!!!

How do I handle it? It varies and depends on the situation.

I think one meal is not the end of the world. It becomes an issue if it becomes more frequent, or if it sets off a binge, or if you are eating way offbase, etc.

See what happens afterwards, that will tell you how big of a 'mistake', if any, it was.

As for your body, my experience I found out pretty quick. I had been on SB for a couple months, I ate Wendy's french fries. 1) they didn't taste as good, but I still ate them (which is an issue). 2) My digestive system wasn't too happy and, well, let's just say their was intenstinal distress within a few hours.

It sounds like you have the right idea. You tried to limit the damage, which is not the right word but I can't think of a better one. You're planning on getting back on track. You're not generating negative self thoughts about it.

Like the successful people here say, this is a long journey not a short sprint.

So far so good! Didn't mess w/ anything in the intestinal area (whew!) and no cravings that bad that I "gave" up.

I actually was really good the remainder of the day. I play adult kickball... and if anyone knows about that, it's all about drinking :) After the game, there's always happy hour at the bar = lots of beer and bar food =BAD food. I volunteered to be DD, so i had an excuse not to drink and made sure to eat something before so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat at the bar.

Before, i would get to the bar so hungry, that I would order anything... fries, wings, burgers... last night everyone around me ordered all this indulgent food, which looked SOO good, but honestly, didn't have any urge (or at least sustained will power) to eat it. I had some celery sticks off someone's wings, but that's it. And astonished me that someone can finish off an entire plate of nachos and the works without feeling sick!
