You get one at lunch and one at dinner. If you have none at lunch, is it okay to have two at dinner?

probably yes, but better to get a balance of good fats, good carbs and lean proteins at each major meal.

This really isn't a "save up allowances so you can eat too much later on" kind of plan. If you ate 8 oz of protein for breakfast, an avocado for snack, 3½ cups of lettuce for lunch, nuts for a snack, and 2 cups of yogurt with a cup of beans for dinner, that would not be SB, even though you ate all the same foods that are recommended in p1 daily. The meals are designed a specific way for a reason: better glycemic control, better calorie allotment, better nutrition, etc. You're not supposed to overload any one meal/snack with any one macronutrient, because your body can't use it up properly.

Boy, I wish I could eat an avocado for snack. 1/3 of an avocado just doesn't do it for me. That's what prompted my question. I'd like to eat 2/3 of an avocado (instead of 1/3) or 1 cup of guacamole (instead of 1/2).

Thanks for the responses.

And, on top of that, spreading out the macronutrients gives more variety and better taste overall. Enjoying your food is an important part of SBD (or any other healthy eating plan.) That imaginary menu sounds as dull as can be!
