Just picked up Kraft reduced fat balsamic and italian dressing packets at Target. These things are great for packing along with lunch or for keeping in your desk at work.

You pay for the portion control, but the convenience is worth it (and the italian is delicious!)

25 calories per 2 tbsp pouch, 1.5 g's of fat Total Carb 2g, Sugars 2g

These packets were the Kraft Light brand, I'm sure Kraft makes the regular versions of these packets as well that you could get at a Super Target.

It doesn't have nearly enough good fats.

once again, my pitch for buying those little disposable 1 oz plastic cups/lids - use for everything from cool whip to salad dressing, cheese, and peanut butter - for everything from lunches to a planned meal out - just put your brand in there and stick in your bag.

now you tell me that - after using them for 2 years....dang it, I wish I'd known

jk, I've actually used them off and on for a couple of years and never had a problem keeping the top on....and I typically pack my lunch in a grocery store bag with no structure...maybe I'm just a lucky girl!

I was being halfway serious, I like the idea, and I'm sure it works, but with my luck I can almost certainly gaurantee the top would pop off or there would be leakage onto my clothes

I haven't had a problem - tho I do tend to nestle them between things - but when we've gone out for dinner I just grab one or two, fill and stick in my purse - now watch tomorrow night they'll pop open!

If the price of these doesn't bother you, individual packets of olive/canola oil and balsamic vinegar might work:

(There may be other, cheaper sources - this just happened to be what I found.)

Or, you could use just half of your packet of Kraft balsamic dressing and add a bit more olive/canola oil to the salad to get the good fats up.

how do you know it does not have enough good fats? I went to your faq and looked under salad dressing, but did not see a fat amount. I'm not the best on a computer or this web site, so I could of easily missed it too.

I must admit to being confused a lot!

Under the list of Good dressings, it says "The above Good dressings range from 10-16 g of total fat, with no more than 2½ g of saturated fat and an emphasis on good fats." The OP said that this packet dressing only has 1.5g of fat.

Yahoo! i found it, only took me over 30 minutes to find it, but I did indeed find it!

Thank You so much for your help.

I did see at the top of the page ( is that a window ?) that it said something about turnips. Turnips fresh from our garden are the very best thing ever to eat! Peel and slice, eat like a radish! Full of lots of fiber too! Should have some in about 6 weeks!

Thanks again for the info on salad dressings, will have to really look at the bottles in the store!

Forgive me if I'm wrong about this....I'm new here!

I just had this dressing with my salad for lunch. My salad had tomatoes, cucumbers, green leaf lettuce, bacon and the Kraft Light Balsamic and Vinegerette dressing. Even though the dressing itself doesn't have enough good fats, wouldn't the bacon make up for it? When you combine items and total the fats wouldn't that make sense that it would be alright?

I have to add, that dressing is truly wonderful!!

bacon is not on the SBD list of foods to enjoy - unless it was turkey bacon Good fat in your salad would be avocado, nuts, or olives [not necessarily an inclusive list]

If you don't have the current list - go to phase 1 and scroll down the 1st page - list of foods (updated 04/2008)
