Snacking too much

I am officially still in Phase 1 but I think I have sooo messed it up already.
I have been snacking too much in the last days, mainly because I have been out of the house - attending private lectures from 8 a.m. to noon...
I had taken along an apple (yes, I know....) and the allotted 15 almonds... so far so good. It is stressful, at around 11.00 a.m. I am starving, because having gotten up at around 5.30 or 6.00 a.m.
When I come home I ate what was there and that was not the best to say the least, so two days ago, I at least managed to pre-cook my beloved veggie-dish that can be warmed up instantly but still... today I see that I am stuck at 94.4kg and not even a 100g off (oh, and yes, I did snack some more almonds in the afternoon and evening because I was hungry.
The question:
Can these "oversnackings" keep me stuck at the present weight or are they okay because of a long day and hunger?

Yes, you're over doing the nuts and I don't see if you're exercising at all.
The apple might also making you feel hungry. You need to have some protein with the apple, like some cheese.

I suggest you take some water with you to drink during the day and you can also take some mozzarella sticks, they travel well.

I understand how you feel, I was at a conference all week last week, but I managed to stay on plan and I didn't gain any weight.

Since I was staying at a hotel, I managed to either swim or exercise in the exercise room every day after the conferences. I also drank water between meeting.

I also suggest you have a hearty breakfast that stays with you longer in the morning.

If worst comes to worst, you can get strick after the conference is over, add more exercising and eat more within the diet.

Enjoy your conference,

Mozzarella sticks are not available where I live.
Of course I take a bottle of water with me, I won't leave the house without!
I did a lot of walking in the past but have to take that up again - at the moment walking from home to bus and from bus to school and back is the walking (make that 1 hour per day!)
Any other suggestions? (Oh, I am not a yellow/hard cheese person.)

Hallo??? Anybody out there?
What alternatives can be carried with me on half-day trips?
(Except apple, nuts and water)

How about celery sticks filled with a little light laughing cow cheese? The cheese holds up well at room temperature.

Also, the roasted chick peas that people have been writing about. I still haven't checked for the recipe, but they sounded salty and good.

If you have a little soft-sided lunch bag (that fits into another bag you are carrying), you could bring some kind of SF,FF yogurt or ricotta mixture or FF cottage cheese with chopped veggies and spices or FF/SF salsa mixed in.

Also, you could try broccoli or cauliflower with a cup of dip(I tend to hoard the dips from fast food places, no refrigeration required). The roasted chickpeas/garbanzos that were previously mentioned are wonderful, too. I personally like the cheese sticks, too, but if you don't have them there, then, oh well. Pepperoni (turkey) chips are also good. Put them on a plate, and microwave until crispy, although these might not stay crispy out and about. Could eat them regular.

Good luck with SB!

Actually, no apple in P1! :)

Several foods such as tuna and salmon are available in pouches or pop-top cans - you can just open them and eat. Olives are also available in pouches. They count as a serving of fat, and would be good paired with raw vegetables.

If you can't bring suitable dip or salad dressing for your raw vegetables, you can carry oil-and-vinegar dressing (mix it up yourself). I use the very smallest size of Gladware for salad dressings.

If you eat a proper breakfast you shouldn't need a lot of food between 8-12.

I know about the "I know." I was quoting Ami's post. Even though you know about apple being a P2 food, other people reading this thread might mistakenly think it's OK for P1.

:)

Edit: "think it's OK for P2" changed to "think it's OK for P1."

I need to know about foods that can be carried to work and would not spoil in extreme heat (which is sure to come) - last year my fruit-tea with sweetener went sour during the day!

Please don't throw brand names at me, I don't live in the US - these things are not available to me!

Bekkoula maybe it would help if you told us where you are from.
So we can understand what sorts of things might be available to you.
Take care Sue

Hello Bekkoula I would imagine that finding foods that would make P1 easier is not a simple job. Maybe it would be easier to take oldpjams advice and forcus on your breakfast. If you can manage a good breakfast before leaving you should be fine with just 1 snack ( maybe nuts, and water ) Then have lunch when you return home.

Also is you are getting up at 5:30am, what time do you have to leave home ?
I am wondering if it would work better for you have have something small when you wake ( maybe cheese, coffe or tea ) then have your breakfast closer to the time you leave home so you don't get hungry as soon.

Example: When I was on P1 : wake at 7am and eat breakfast at 7:30am, have my snack between 9:30am - 10, then have lunch around 12:30

Hope that helps some Sue
