Mother's Day lunch

I'm having lunch with the fam on Sunday for Mother's Day and need some advise. Sunday will be my last day on phase 1. Here are my options...

Sautéed chicken breast, topped with a lemon caper butter sauce

Sautéed chicken breast, with mushrooms in a Marsala wine sauce

Sautéed chicken with artichoke hearts in a white wine garlic butter sauce

Sautéed chicken in a red wine sauce topped with roasted red peppers, capers and caramelized onions

What do you think is my best bet? Thanks!

ask for the chicken without sauce, preferably grilled/sauteed without butter, lots of veggies - all those sauces probably have a lot of butter, so if you don't want to standout, ask for the sauce on the side and do the fork dip if you have to. FWIW None of them would be good choices on P2 more than likely!

if they have chicken breast they can make it without the sauce.

Ask if they can do the artichoke and capers chicken with olive oil instead of butter. I make it that way all the time. Lots of people are allergic to dairy, so restaurants are used to requests like this.

I've been thinking about mother's day too. Last day of phase 1 for me too. I'm thinking that I might have a little wine. I am also thinking of making up for it by continuing phase 1 at least a few more days. I don't know if that will work, but I would enjoy some wine with my mother's day dinner.

If I were you, I would DEFINITELY ask for the sauce on the side. By asking for it on the side, you won't stand out like you would if you asked for it without. When I was in a similar situation once and didn't want to stand out, I asked for it on the side and then poured a little bit on the side of the plate to "dip" the chicken in. If I was talkign wiht friends as we started eating, I woudl take the tineiest taste of hte sauce adn then be like "ehh tastes weird...i kinda like it more without."

There are plenty of times when I don't know if I'll like a sauce so i ask for it on the side then decide that I don't like it, so "pretending" to do that isn't weird and it will definitely help you feel better if you're worried about standing out!

I wouldn't stay in P1 because of it. I had a glass of wine my last night on P1. I figure it's allowed on P2, and one glass wasn't going to stall all the work I did over the last 13 days. Just don't have too much, and try and keep the rest of the day beachy!
