I was too busy to post yesterday, but I wanted to write to celebrate the completion of week one. A lot of people started on the same day as I did and I'm wondering how you are all doing?
The last few days have been much better for me than the first, in terms of how I feel. I'm less hungry and don't have a headache as much.
I've been eating fantastic salads with grilled chicken, tuna, or feta cheese and lots of good veggies. I'm eating other things too, but I love big salads with lots of stuff in them.
This weekend I managed to make it through 1. the movies without the popcorn that my husband and son were eating (I had a nice cup of herbal tea, which helped a bit), 2. dinner at a restaurant (substituted rice for extra grilled veggies and had selzer water with a lime instead of wine - I really missed the wine) and 3. dinner at friends' (no roll on my hamburger, no roasted potato salad, picked all of the fruit out of the fresh salad, none of the chocolate dipped strawberries that I made and (sigh) no champagne Luckily, there were grilled red peppers, mushrooms and onions, which were a real treat and the salad was delicious even without the fruit.
I'm not weighing myself, so I don't know how I am doing, but I feel good.
I hope that all of you day niners are also doing well. |

I started the same day as you and it sounds like you have been doing very well. It's been a struggle for me, and I can't wait to start getting into Ph.2. The biggest struggle for me - well, two main struggles really. The first is work - we always have (free) unhealthy food around. Just this morning there were waffles for a breakfast treat and we'll be having pizza during a lunch meeting. The second struggle is finding the time to plan out meals my husband and I will actually enjoy, so we don't feel like it's a huge sacrifice. I've been trying to keep a positive attitude, but it's been difficult. The board definitely helps.
