| You get 1 serving of nuts or seeds each day (and natural PB counts as a nut serving). Most people do use them as a snack, often with something else like some cheese, but if you make the flaxmeal pancakes for example for breakfast, that would also use up the allowance as well. Given that they tend to have both protein and fat and therefore will help with feelings of hunger, I probably wouldn't add them to a major meal, other than perhaps breakfast. But really you can use them as you wish. Or skip them! Many find sticking to 1 oz. difficult to do and will avoid them altogether rather than getting started on them and not being able to stop at the allotted amounts. (See the P1 foods list linked into the P1 FAQ sticky thread for approximate numbers of each type of nut that is intended to be equivalent to a 1 oz. serving.) |
