Generally no as there is too much added sugars. If you can find a low carb version that is artificially sweetened that's probably OK or there are probably some recipes to make your own in the Recipe Summary sticky thread in the Recipe and Food forum here.
Note: I also split this out from the salad dressing thread as it really isn't a salad dressing question or comment. |

Have you tried making your own BBQ sauce?
RedRox is right, when you make it, you pretty much dump sugar into it.
BBQ Sauce:
1/2c Ketchup ***PLEASE SEE HOMEMADE RECIPE BELOW***
1/2 onion, chopped
2T brown sugar *** Try Substituing this for Splenda (Splenda also makes brown sugar, which has 0carbs, 0fat, 0calories***
1t Liquid Smoke
1t Worcestershire sauce
1T dry mustard
1 garlic clove, minced
1 red pepper, minced or chopped
In a medium sized saucepan, combine all ingredients. On low heat, simmer 15 minutes
-----------------------
***Ketchup*** the stuff you buy at the store has added sugar, which isn't SBD friendly
Here's how to make your own:
1 (28-oz) can whole tomatoes in purée
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar***REPLACE WITH SPLENDA***
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
+any seasonings you like |

splenda brown sugar is half regular brown sugar: A tablespoon of SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend contains 48 calories and is the equivalent in sweetness to two tablespoons of brown sugar, which contains 96 calories.
I think sugar twin makes a sugar free brown sugar flavored something....but I haven't tried it. |

You're right, I must've read the label wrong. Thank You :D
Here's a pic of the label from the Splenda website:
**Keep in mind that the serving size is only 1/2t...you will need much more than that for the recipe. So you may want to try regular Splenda, with a little cinnamon for flavor. |

I thought it was sugar free as well...sf maple syrup would be a good sub in a barbq recipe
my favorite barbq has no ketchup or tomatoey stuff in it at all. |
