sugars 0
protein 5g
first few ingred: water, whole wheat flour, corn oil, oat fiber, soy protein, wheat glut.
just looking for other options for phase 2....thanks!! |

| Looks fine to me, despite the "low carb" claim-- it is made with only whole wheat flour, which is perfect, and it doesn't have a bunch of added bad stuff either. The serving size per meal should be about an ounce (or around 30g) total weight. |

Well IMO, the best choices are 100% whole wheat tortillas as many low carb products do not typically fit well with SB guidelines.
The rest of the ingredient list might have been helpful as well ;) , but in the ingredients that are posted there are no particular red flags. A little "frankenfood-ish" to me as the soy protein and oat fiber are being added simply to create low net carb counts which are irrelevant to SB eating to begin with.
What are the size of these in grams? Remember a serving of grains should be around 30 gms. so 6" tortillas generally work OK, but the larger big wraps are often 2 or more servings in a single tortilla. |

These are very similar to the ones from a local brand (Cedars) which I eat. I don't disagree with Red's observations, but I prefer these to 100% whole wheat. The oat bran, wheat gluten, soy protein combination makes them less dense, chewier, and slightly sweeter, which I like a lot. There are similar pitas and wraps available. The two brands I use are Cedars and Josephs.
If you use these kinds of products, I think it's important to check and understand the ingredients. Whatever flour is used should be 100% whole wheat. All the ingredients should be recognizable. Fat grams per serving should be low. |
