I am having some stomach problems in general, I am on day one of the SBD and heard that Activia is really good for relieving constipation. Is this a permitted food in phase 1? I read the info and it says low fat yogurt is and this is but it has carbs and sugar?? Please let me know
Thanks in advance! :D

I think best bet would be a respectable amount of fiber, green leafy vegetables (romain lettuce is great) ans flax seed in your diet.
You could also take Acidophilis supplement that can be found in health food stores without the added sugar in Activia.
Plain Activia with 17g of sugar is "amost" ok, but for some reason they added corn starch to it (probably to improve texture)

all yogurts have "carbs and sugars". But plain FF/LF yogurt is allowed and encouraged in P1 because they are relatively low GI sugars (lactose) and it's generally healthy stuff and you still need to get your good carbs in each day. If the activia has cornstarch then it would not be a good P1 choice. Don't forget about beans/legumes either! And SF metamucil or other SF fiber supplements are OK too.

be aware that the only reason Activia is the ONLY yogurt with Bifidus regularis, is because it's a strain trademarked by Dannon that is not in its other yogurts.

in other words ANY yogurt will do.

A while back I tried the 10 day challenge, and it did not help constipation for me. It did seem to give me gas, but other than that no difference. Sometimes dairy products are not good for constipation, at least thats what I heard a long time ago :? (correct me please if I am wrong).

Hi i suffer with "irregular" toilet situations. Went to my local holland and barrett and lady there put me on to these,"colon care". Main ingrediant is PSYLLIUM seed husks.
Its worked for me,now going at least once a day, where as before sometimes only twice a week!!!!

Good thing with this product, its all natural and bonus thing, psyllium fills me up. Found eating alot less since starting it,10 days ago!!!!Lady at Holland and barrett said you can take this long term if needed,or just to get you going.
You take 4-6 tablets twice a day,30-60 mins before meals with 250mls of water. Also you HAVE got to drink plenty of water with this product too.
Hope this helps
