I just started the SBD on Friday (May 2). At first I thought I wasnt going to make it. I was sooooo hungry. I honestly prayed and prayed so that I could make it through the day and I did it..and now Im on Day 4...SOooooo Happy. I have so many + people supporting me on this.
Quick ?. I bought the wrong hotdogs and ate a couple. Do I start over again or just continue on with the LF ones. I also want to know what is the average weight one can lose on the Phase 1 part.
Please help me with any advice for a newbee.
Thanks for Listening

stick the rest of the dogs in the freezer, or give them to someone who will eat them. No need to start over - just take from this experience and learn to read labels - it is a very long process, but worth it - in a couple/few weeks, you'll be able to pick out the good stuff at a glance [until you get to bread and cereal....jk]
Average weight loss - no such thing!!! The original book as based on very obese, unhealthy patients - so of course a sudden change would bring greater loss. The amount of weight loss depends on how much you have to lose, age, health, activity levels, medication, and how you chose to create your diet out of the allowed foods - i.e. if you eat calorie dense foods [cheese, not so lean meats] at every meal/snack, your loss might be less than the same size/age person who choses to eat more of the less calorie dense foods and more veggies, lean meat. |

| I'm horrible reading labels....print is too tiny even with my glasses [excuse] but I"m learning. P1 is so easy to eat clean - just veggies and lean meats and dairy...moving on to P2 actually requires some effort!!! |

The updated P1 foods to avoid list is the 2nd post directly under the P1 foods to enjoy list linked into the FAQ sticky thread.
If you want to get to the current "avoid" list directly, use this link:

The allowed types of dairy are both allowed and encouraged on P1 to help get your good carbs in and avoid ketosis. |

Hi, I started SBD one day before you (May 1, figured 1st of a month was a good time). It's going okay so far, no major cravings or hunger. I haven't lost any weight, but that doesn't seem unusual from reading the boards.
I just added exercise to the diet today. I wanted to give myself a few days of getting adjusted to the diet before exercising. Nothing drastic - walked a mile and jogged 1/2 a mile. I will try to add a little more each day.
I haven't had anything like hot dogs (turkey or otherwise). Just lots of eggs, cheese, simple meats and fish, and of course veggies. I say this as I'm eating my 15 unsalted cashews and LF laughing cow cheese for snack. |
