Hello, I just joined the forum. My name is Rita and I am beginning P1 today...
Currently, I am 21 years old at 125 lbs and hoping to lose a stubborn 10 lbs. I hope to lose weight and embark on this journey to a healthy mentality due to a recent epiphany I had that my past eating habits and lack of exercise simply do not make me feel good about myself... and I'd just like to.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to get to know everyone here who's experiencing this new lifestyle with me. I'd love the support, so feel free to message me. :)
Anyone else starting today as well???

I started 2 weeks ago. In that time, I lost 6 lbs. Pants that were tight two weeks ago are loose now. My cravings have definitely subsided. I walk past the chocolate basket at work without thinking about it now, when I used to 'have' to make a few trips a day.
You can do it! It's so worth it. |

Hi there! I just started Phase 1 today. I'm turning 34 next month and am at a dismal 160 pounds at only 5'2. :( I feel gross and look frumpy and dumpy.
This is the highest weight I've ever been (I've only hit this weight once before) and I don't intend on letting it go any further. I actually got down to 135 on WW, but then I started eating nothing but garbage to fill up my points. I'm a sugar junkie and just need to bite the bullet and make that lifestyle change permanently if I want to see things happen. I'm also dealing with hypothyroidism, so that just adds to the need to go this route in terms of life-long eating changes.
So far so good this morning. We'll see how we do until this afternoon, heh. |

I am starting today as well. My main reasons like many others is health. I am 43 weight 188 lb, and have very high blood pressure controled by meds. I was always a very healthy person, walked, jogged and lifted weights - But I let life get in the way and gained over 50 pounds in a year & half. Aside from the vain reasons like wanting to be able to wear real clothes instead of the baggy ones I wear now, and to enjoy the beach (I live in Florida). My doc is having a fit over my weight gain and has told me that I am a walking stroke. As many others this is a very emotional choice for me and keeping my fingers crossed I can stick with it. Good luck to everyone. :D

I am starting (or restarting) today as well. I did SB for about 4 months a year ago and had great success. I just fell off the wagon. :(
I am also having issues with plantar fasciitis and am unable to do much of exercising, so it is even more important for me to be good food wise.
Good luck to all of you! :D |

I just started today too but I have a bit more weight to lose. I'm 37 and weighing in at 240 right now and would be thrilled to get down to 170. I have not been under 200 pounds for almost 20 years and I think it's about time. I'm pretty lucky in that my fiancee is very supportive and actually started with me. He has a bit of a pooch and he's unhappy with it so hopefully this will work well with him too.
I'm such a salt and crunchy junkie so this is should be interesting in seeing how I make it through the following weeks. Wow, no chips...not sure how I'll do it. :D |

| Look into turkey pepperoni chips and roasted chickpeas recipes in the Recipe Summary sticky thread in the Recipe and Food forum. Might help! ;) |

I am also starting today! Well "restarting" I guess. I did South Beach last year for about 6 month, but I was training for a half marathon and my doctor said that I wasn't getting as many carbs as I need to be able to run 10-13 miles a day, so I stopped the diet. Then after I completed the half marathon (sept 07) I took ALOT of time off from running, but didn't start back up the diet, so I put back on 30 of the 50 lbs I had lost on the diet. I am ready to be serious again and this time, I don't have a strenuous training schedule to stop me! So here is info about me:
23 years old, 233 lbs, and 5'6"
I am a lacto-vegetarian (meaning I don't eat any animal products....including eggs....with the exception of dairy), so this diet is a bit different for me compared to alot of others that are on it. I do just fine though!!
I can't wait to start losing again! I love the SBD, it is the healthiest diet out there and am sooooo glad to be back on it!
Good luck everyone!! :D |

Hey! My name is Lynn and I'm also starting the SB Diet today, Monday, May 5th. I made it through one week of Phase One about a month ago, and got great results, but didn't have the willpower to continue. Hopefully this forum will give me the boost I need!
Starting Stats:
Weight- 149 pounds
Height- 5' 2.5"
Ideally, I would like to lose 20 pounds on this diet! I'm starting a bootcamp type thing next week, and that should help with my goal! Good luck everyone!! |

| I'm starting today too! My first time on SB. I would love any tips. I have spent the whole morning cooking so far. I made an omlette for breakfast with asparagus and cheese. I made the quiche cups for the week and I made the cauliflower soup. I took a shower break and now I am going to make chilli. I know this is it for me! Good luck everyone! |
