Good luck to you all the SBers. Have a great.

lmolina: sashimi, edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, etc. are still all P1 friendly, although the soup is fairly high in sodium which can cause water retention.

Yum, edamame sounds like a great snack right now.

Anyway, I'm on day 2... I was feeling extremely tired today though, I think my body isn't used to the adjustment. I ended up taking a 2 hr nap. Other than that, I am feeling a bit lighter.

I'm also getting my friend to join me on SB. I'm hoping she chooses to. It seems like she's convinced it will work.

My suggestion to all newbies. Check out the FAQs for Ph 1 on the forum if you already haven't. It is a great help.

Best of luck.

I'm starting today! I have already lost nearly 20 pounds on weight watchers but I'm losing momentum and keep on snacking on low-fat carby snacks - i was exercising up until recently but stopped because of time and stress in work. I miss the buzz I got after a workout and a weigh in and I'm dying to get back on the wagon again!

I tried South Beach for 3 months a few years ago and had great success with it but I went through a tough patch and unfortunately fell off the wagon. The only problem I had the last time was that a lot of the foods - especially the name brand things - arent available where I live in Ireland. Is anyone else from outside the US?? any tips??

Last time I lost about 8 pounds in the first week with SB - I have a blacktie ball coming up this day week and I'm putting off buying a dress until tuesday in the hope that i lose a few inches before then!

Good luck to everyone!

I also started "properly" on monday, me too was quite tired yesterday....but with a 4yr old daughter, no naps for jules!!!!

Really enjoying it though, liking having to really think about whats going into my mouth....rather than just eating something at mealtime!!!

Off to london for couple of days tomorrow. But taking sf jelly pots with me for breakfast and pistachio nuts to snack on. Just gonna stick to plain chicken or seafood if i can.

But defo back onto it properly saturday,3 weeks to holidays today!!

Hi all,
Pluggin' along. Thanks for the tip RedFox. Confession, ended up at Chili's because the place was closed. Slipped with a couple of buffalo wings. But back on track and ready to R&R (or is it SB)

I want to be in London this weekend  I'm in Sacramento, CA. My family and I will complete a 5K walk "Race for the Cure" on Sat, May 10. (http://komensacramento.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=265447) . Wish us luck.

Day 3 Menu
Same as Day 2.
I need to make time in the evening to change up my B & L.

Have a great day all.

I started on Monday too. My mornings have been so crazy though that I have been skimping on the veggies. I will have a 1 cup of nf cottage cheese and 2 hard boiled eggs. im usually fine until lunch with that where I will have a salad with chicken and 1/2 cup of kidney beans. but by 3pm or so I am hungry again and I pig out on cheese sticks. I haven't had any of the foods to avoid - but I feel like I am eating too much. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

i had a head ache today and can feel my breath getting soo gross.. but i really want to lose this weight and I am determined this time. Even if it means i have to go 2 weeks without wine - wahhhhhhh

Start Weight: 156 lbs
Goal Weight: 130lbs

I started Monday too!

Actually, I tried to do Phase 1 on April 1, but my work was so crazy then I was getting home at 9:00pm and just standing in my kitchen totally confused about what to make for dinner. So I decided to postpone starting Phase I until after things settled down some at work and this also gave me time to read the book and look at some of the beginners info here.

So far the first 3 days are going pretty well. I'm not sure what is for dinner yet. Probably a grilled boneless pork chop and steamed brussel sprouts.

Mama of two

I started on April 29th. I have been reading, reading, reading and kind of lurking in here. Today, I finally registered. :D

There is a lot of awesome information in here and I am really digging the recipes. I cooked the Chicken Capri last night. It was perfection on a fork.

Ok, so I am a SAHM of two lovely boys and have been either pregnant or breastfeeding off and on for over 6 years now. I am done with that part of my path and am ready to get the weight off now.

These are signs of ketosis (esp. the breath part) which means you aren't getting enough of your good carbs in P1. What about your 2 cups of milk/yogurt and more veggies and maybe another serving of beans somewhere?
