Feeling great, I'm actually a bit surprised at how easily the pounds are coming off. I normally have a horrible time losing weight, but this week, I'm doing great!

It's highly motivating, and I'm absolutely sticking through the 2 weeks!

Last night, we went out to eat (which I dreaded a bit), but I chose a grilled chicken breast with buffalo sauce, and a slice of swiss cheese on top. It came as a sandwich, but I took off the bun. It was great to be done and know I made a smart choice, and stuck with my plan, and that I CAN DO IT!!!

Every day, I have a (big) can of V8, which is 2 servings of veggies, as well as 1 light yogurt, and a string cheese. Those are my staples every day.

In addition, I like to cut up some veggies and stir fry them in the wok with a drizzle of flavor (teriyaki, soy sauce, etc...). That works well for me. Otherwise, if I have a turkey burger, I might also have a bowl of green beans, or a light salad.

I honestly don't over-worry about getting my exact measurements in, because although I do like veggies, I never ate a ton of them, or ate them consistently, so this for me is better than I've ever been. Like last night, I didn't have my 2 cups of veggies. Why? Because I ate some earlier, and I really didn't care for any. If I thought it was such an absolute necessity, I'd be more paranoid & self-defeating about this diet. If I relax about my mindset, I can go the long haul with it. Some may have to be more demanding of themselves, but it's not that way for me.

I do find that having a few standards helps me from going crazy having to choose different things each day.

OK. but the program is still for a minimum of 4.5 cups of veggies per day and a V8 takes care of a 1/2 cup of that only. you shouldn't sub in with more than one 6 oz v8 a day. glad to hear you get them in elsewhere! :) And each major meal should be a balance of good carbs, good fats and lean proteins. When all you eat is protein and protein and fat, it really isn't the healthiest option and doesn't really match up with SB principles. If you are on your own plan that's fine too! Best wishes!

RedRox, I don't know where you think that's what I do everyday. I mentioned my dinner last night, and how, even though we went to a burger joint, I made a good choice, which for me is a big deal. Fo you to try & downplay that and turn it into me never eating enough veggies is a far cry from anything about what you know about how I do this plan. To suggest I'm doing my own plan is not accurate, and I personally find your assumption through a lack of knowledge insulting and discouraging.

I, like many people here have struggled to lose weight, and now I'm doing it successfully by following the SBD. Yeasteday, I did not get a total 4.5 cups of veggies. I totalled approx. 2.5 to 3 cups. This is far better than how I used to be, and is an improvement. If I am going to be so strict with myself every time I don't meet the full veggie recommendation, not only will I burn out of doing SBD, but I'd be more hungry all the time than I am now. Losing a pound per day is fabulous-even if I missed 1.5 cups of veggies yesterday. You obviously missed the fact that I didn't fully divulge my entire day's foods, and assumed a V8 was all the veggie I had.

By the way, I got 5 cups today, and frankly the majority of my meals ARE a good balance. I'm choosing wise snacks, and following the plan very well, no thanks to such critics as yourself.

Please take a minute to get a little bit more information about people before making such generalizations. sheesh!

Funny I didn't think I was being critical at all. Sorry you took it the wrong way. If you notice my first comment was actually just very playful with a wink after it. I was really just joking about it and didn't mean anything at all by it.

And when you say things like "I honestly don't over-worry about getting my exact measurements in" and "If I relax about my mindset" and "Some may have to be more demanding of themselves, but it's not that way for me.", sorry if I apparently took that to mean that you don't really measure, are relaxed about following the program and are not very demanding of yourself to stay close to the guidelines. I don't know where I could have gotten such an impression.

I also added "Best Wishes"! I meant that the first time and mean it again when I say Best Wishes!! I always hope that everyone who comes here is successful in meeting their weight loss objectives and learning healthy lifestyle eating habits that will serve them for years to come. I truly hope the same for you. But I'll be sure to stay out of your posts from now on.
