Since I am on summer break, its been super hard for me to wake up on time for breakfast so like around noon, I just go straight to lunch and make that my first meal of the day. I usually have a salad with chicken breast and 2 tablespoons of Thousand Island dressing along with sugar free Jell-o.

Then I wait till dinner and have another salad with a different type of meat.

I have lost about 10 lbs in 7 days and I am not hungry. So I am asking, how bad of an effect am I putting on the diet if I skip breakfast and the snacks and the dessert?

I'm just not hungry!!! Please help!

I don't think your not eating is having a bad effect on the diet. I think you're not doing the diet at all.

If you're on summer break, then you should be able to make a schedule for yourself, where you're eating every 3 hours (give or take) and making sure it fits with SB.

I don't think it really matters what time you start eating....I'm assuming you're staying up later at night, also? So you are on a later schedule, but you could still squeeze in your meals and snacks - just at a later hour than most of us.

It just sounds like you've got a low calorie (possibly), low carb thing going on. A few weeks ago, I realized I wasn't eating enough and I started adding some things to my diet.....and my appetite went way up. It might work that way for you too....I'm not sure why it happened, but now I want to eat alot more than I did before I added beans and V8 (and something else, but I can't remember what it was). Low carb diets are known to eliminate a natural appetite. Perhaps that's what you're experiencing?

Just some things to think about.

yep. My first though when I saw the title was "If you have to ask, you probably are!" ;) Find the meal template thread (how to adapt your meal plan) linked into the P1 FAQ sticky thread and restructure your meals to follow that. 3 meals and 2 snacks are mandatory in P1. 3rd snack after dinner is optional.

I agree with the previous posts. I also wanted to add, though, it doesn't matter what time of day you get up. If you want to start your day with salad and chicken breast, go ahead. But you should eat your first meal not too long after you wake up - don't wait a few hours. It doesn't matter whether you call that meal breakfast or lunch.

You do need to spread your meals/snacks out more, and eat more of a variety, including more good carbs, as the other two pointed out. Two meals a day of meat and salad are probably not going to give you the nourishment you need. Having said that, if you're happy with a diet of lean meat and salads, you should have no problem with SBD, because the foods you need to add are the ones people usually look forward to.
