Hellman's mayo - light or extra light?

Is extra-light a better option than just light mayo? I have the same question about extra-light philadelphia, and extra-light Laughing Cow cheese.
I presume the extra-light is better so that's what I've been using, but would love to know for definite.

Anyone know?

I might be wrong, but I think that light/xtra light mayo contains additives and things like that. Therefore, regular mayo is recommended.

Not sure about the cheese.

Usually with mayonnaise, the lower the fat, the more sugar (not good). If you'd like to post the ingredients and nutrition information, someone might give you a more definite answer, though.

Dairy products are different because the fat that's removed isn't (usually) replaced with sugar or anything else, so the lighter cheeses should be OK. You might check the ingredients, though, to make sure there are no added sugars, starches, etc.

The Hellmans extra-light says 11g of carb (of which 4.8g is sugar) per 100g. Is that reasonable??
also, I thought the SBD recommended light versions of dressings like mayo??????

Most dressings (mayo included) you're better off having a small amount of the real stuff. Lower fat in those items usually means added sugar.

I buy the Hellmans regular mayo made with olive oil:

Full fat and low-fat mayo is recommended.

(full-fat serving size is 1 TBS... low-far serving size is 2 Tbs.)
.....avoid varieties made with high fructose corn syrup....

Many of the store brand mayo's (regular/low fat) are fine to use.... be sure to read the labels.......

Say, speaking of mayo, has anyone tried that new variety made with olive oil? Is it any good? How does it taste? Do you think it's really better for you, like they claim? And did it come in a light variety?

if you have a trader joes, i recommend their house brand regular mayo. NO SUGAR ADDED!

My new find is TJ's Wasabi Mayo. Yum! It's made with canola oil and no added bad stuff, so it's a great choice for a good fat.
