I don't feel like I am doing to diet correctly. For ex. yesterday...eggs with tomatoes, low fat cottage cheese, black beans. For lunch only had large chilli from Wendy's. Dinner had a salad with shrimp and low fat cheese w/balsamic viniger dressing and string cheese. About 10 almonds and last night I had fat free jello. That was a lot but feel like I am missing something. Any suggestions????


Does anyone know if pesto is okay.

We would need to see the ingredients to be sure, but the basics of pesto, olive oil, basil and pine nuts are all fine in P1. I'd probably cut the serving size to 2-3 tblsp. instead of the 4 suggested (1/4 cup = 4 tblsp) which would put it more in the range of a salad dressing. Look for added sugars as I am not sure why those would be that high given the std. ingredients. You can make your own pesto too and control the ingredients! ;)

Don't see any dairy really in your menu, but maybe you just didn't list beverages. Should have still had a side salad with the chili. not enough veggies alone in the chili. need min. 2 cups at both lunch and dinner, 1/2 cup at breakfast. Also hard to tell timing. hopefully eating something every 2-3 hours, 3 meals and 3 snacks in a generally alternating framework, B-S-L-S-D-S. Be sure to check out the "how to adapt your meal plan" menu template thread linked into the FAQ sticky threads. you can compare how you are structuring your menu against that and adjust accordingly as well.
