Today is my 1st day with SB diet. I am planning on doing the whole 2 weeks phase 1, and can't wait to see some results.
I was hoping to use my ticker I just created, but don't have the required 10 posts yet. So... I am starting at 169, and want to get to 135.
This morning I had 1 boiled egg, and fresh mushrooms, asparagus, snap peas, and garlic for breakfast.

Yeah momtofive!! Have you visited the phase 1 discussion area? I'm sure you'll hit your 10 posts there ;) I'm just entering my second week phase 1 and still really enjoying it... of course the recipe area helps too :)
Have a great day! |

Thanks for the welcome y'all. I finished my day out pretty well last night. I was within all the guidelines, and got in about 7 or 8 servings of veggies. Maybe more- I didn't measure them.
I am ready for day 2, and will have foods prepared ahead, so I can grab and go, without grabbing something I shouldn't
I have read the book, and am trying the suggested meal plans, and recipes. |

Welcome!! I wish you all the success in the world! Although how you gained weight with five kids, is a miracle in itself.... Just joking, but wow, five kids sure does take a lot of energy!
Congratulations on your decision--and don't read my journal. I'm having difficulties and I don't want to give you any kind of negative influence. We are two different people and have different "dieting" needs--so if you sneak a peek anyway, NOTHING I have written that is negative pertains to you or your journey! :P |

Gaia3, your disclaimer is duly noted! Nice to *meet* you.
5 kids is lots of work-but lots of fun. Sadly, most of my running is the mini van now, hence the weight gain! |

| Well, get it under control now because when my sons left home (they were only 10 months apart in age) AND then I quit smoking--in total, in 5 years, I gained almost 100lbs--and I gained about 50lbs in three months when I stopped smoking! How is that possible!? I almost started back smoking, but I stuck with it and I lost most of that weight--then gained back about half of it... (sigh) But I'm still about 20lbs less than my highest weight, so that's something...could be worse. |

I am still a few posts shy of my ticker! But, I will get there. Thanks for checking PixieMom. Some days, life gets crazy, and I don't get anywhere near a computer.
I am doing pretty well, so far. I can't believe the cravings I have had lately. I even dreamed about cake! I did have a glass of wine with hubby the other night, but day 4, and pushing past. |

| Gaia3, glad you are still working on it. It must have been hard to have 2 leave home so close together. My are spread pretty far out. Still have 3 at home (though 1 is a boomerang  ) and another will be home for summer after school. |

Actually, I really love living by myself, but when I'm trying to do something where I need support, I don't have much. But I'm an extremely independent person, so that helps me some.
I've decided to try a different approach to dieting that I think I'll be more comfortable with, though. So, it will probably be better if I find a messageboard that will support me on that type of diet...
Anyway, just wanted to say that I wish you all the success in the world and that if this way of eating doesn't work, try something different--but don't ever give up!! Good luck to you!! :D |

Gaia3, hope all goes well for you! Check in sometimes-we'll miss you.
Several good days-today is day 5. I am avoiding carbs other than milk and beans and veggies-except for wine last night with dinner  BUT, another day, another chance to make it right. I am losing, so that is encouraging. I won't change my ticker till Sunday though, after the 1st week. |

Well today is weigh in day. I got up all excited this morning, as the scale has been reading 165, or even 164.8 (!!), but it showed 166. Now what is up with that
Yesterday I had a sugar free fudgesicle-is that a problem? Oh well. It is not getting much easier-I have to talk my way past the fruit especially. I put a cookie in my mouth yesterday, but quickly spit it out before I took a bite  I AM going to do this. I don't even like sweets that much. My normal carbs come from corn chips (and salsa), popcorn, Ezekiel bread for toast, and fruit. So why do my cravings take the form of sweets? Veeerrrry interesting, no?
So a typical day for me looks like yesterday.
Breakfast (eaten mid morning- kinda brunch) 2 eggs scrambled with fresh local asparagus, snow peas, garlic and onions
Lunch 2 artichokes with lemon sauce (about 1/4 cup), low fat cheese stick
Snack sugar free popsicle
Dinner spicy flank steak, about 4 oz, stir fry peppers, onions, garlic, zucchini, roasted cauliflower
Snack, roasted almonds, about a handful.
Where am I going wrong? I am ok with losing 3 pounds, but it is frustrating that yesterday it was 4 pounds.grrr |

Keep it up! You're doing great!
Funny though I am normally a sweet-aholic... but if I really want something now - it's salt. Luckily nuts are doing the trick, but I need to watch the quantities a bit better.
And don't let the scale dictate your happiness. It's something I struggle with too. |
