Any other South beach dieters living in Asia?

Just wondering if like myself, anyone else lives in Asia?

I find following the diet a bit tricky as some ingredients are hard to source or very expensive. Low fat cottage cheese, cheddar, ricotta is not available where i live. Nor is low sugar jelly. There generally isn't a huge range of low fat/low sugar products where I live. We've only just got Sprite light! No diet tonic yet, I've been waiting for a gin and tonic for so long now!

Also I love beef but it the local beef is almost inedible here and the imported beef is so expensive, can only be a special treat not an every day ingredient. The history with chicken in Asia doesn't make it very appetising so most people tend to eat a lot of pork. It doesn't feature on SB recipes so much - I'm guessing because it's high in fat? The good thing is the fish is amazing.

Anyway, is there anyone else trying to improvise in Asia and are there any sites/ past threads with asian recipes that may be useful?

thanks,
D.
