Hi Gang,
I haven't been here for a while but I am back! lol
So I was on SB about three years ago for about a 18 month or so. Lost a total of about 30 lbs and it was awesome!
I fell off the wagon for a while (Wife and I had a 2nd baby). Now we are both back on. First phase for four weeks and very slowly moving into second. I also started taking Tae Kwon Do three times a week which is something I wasn't doing last time around.
So the thing is, we are more strict this time, doing more exercising but it is just not working at all. I lost about 8 lbs so far and the wife is doing even worse. We also tried to get back on about half a year ago and it was exactly the same. It was so bad that we fell off again after a month. Veeeeeeeery slow compared to how it was last time. I remember the lbs just coming off like crazy.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it might have slowed down so much this time around?
Thank you,
Grush. |

Staying in P1 for 4 weeks while exercising more probably didn't help, but in addition, anecodotal evidence from many people who return after being off plan for a while experience a much slower rate of loss during subsequent attempts. Can't explain it, just seems to be the way it goes.
No reason not to stay with a healthy eating plan for life though! :) keep going! :) |

I just remember saying to everyone "no problems, SB was so easy the first time around that I will love going back on". It is a bit discouraging though. I am not having as much fun as I was last time around. It feels more like a chore. Oh well... maybe it will get better.

| understand. what are your other alternatives though? perhaps instead of thinking of going on and off a diet, think in terms of changing your diet... ;) once and for all! ;) good luck. |

| Yup, I see others with this same issue. They don't get the sme result after the first time. I think it may have something to do with people having done the diet before and pretty much know what they can get away with. I think if I were to go to a different plan or revert and restart I would know what I could push. When I first started I was so anal I took the carrots out of my salad mix. Don't think that would be an issue now, but I was much stricter with everything in the beginning. |

| I think part of it is that you don't have as much weight to lose and the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off. It took me a long time to lose weight the second time around but now that this has become a lifestyle for me, I'm maintaining just fine. |
