I'm a newbie to the South Beach Diet, but have read the book and many of the postings on this forum. Diets, diets, diets, I must say I have probably tried most of them. SB sounded like a lifestyle choice as opposed to the other diets that I have not been able to maintain.
Exercise is not an issue as I kickbox, walk, bike and play baseball; however, I have gained 30 lbs during my time as a student (night shifts and poor eating decisions are the culprits). Anyway, I have recently graduated and would like to return to my previous weight. I know how much it helps me to have other people for support and I am looking forward to it!
I couldn't put this on my ticker, but my biggest goal is to fit back into my shorts for baseball season! :D |

Well as someone who has just finished up his 4th year of eating this way, I tend to think it works very well as a lifestyle choice and is really the only way it does "work". It reallyjust makes a lot of sense and lots of good food options to work with. I never really felt too much like I was dieting or that I was overly restricted in any way which was a good thing as far as I was concerned.
And I think you should be able to add text in along with the ticker (separately, not embedded in the image). you get 255 characters I think, so usually room for both the ticker code and a short text message as well.
also try this code with bbcode tags instead:
Code: [url=http://tickerfactory.com][img]http://tickers.tickerfactory.com/ezt/t/wD9ItkD/weight.png[/img][/url]
actually the link in the url= spot should be the link to your log in page for editing before the IMG tags and your actual ticker image. make sure there are no spaces in the character string to fully embed all text in the graphic as a clickable image.
or use tickercental.com... ;) better code out of the box... ;)
good luck with the baseball season. don't buy new shorts! ;) |

Hey RedRox,
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm on day two and so far so good. I've had a bit of a headache but other than that all is well. |

| My energy level is so low as I soon discovered during my kickboxing class last night. I could barely finish (never have had that happen before). I'm assuming that this is normal? |

:D Yeah.... those of us who were already exercising, really noticed a difference in energy levels in Phase 1.
Frustrating!
Beans (kidney, garbanzo, etc.) and dairy will help some. They supply some "good" carbs (phase 1 is fairly carb restrictive).... also helps with the headaches.
On the bright side.... in phase 2, your energy levels will return to normal.
Good luck! |
