I don't know what kind of seat you have on either bike, but the seats that come on most bikes are absolutely ungodly! They make me feel I have no meat on my bones at all (and trust me, I DO!). After the first few days on the bike, I could barely sit down, and the ride itself felt like a violation I don't even want to tell y'all about!!!!!! It was not at all a pleasurable experience - I'll say that.

I got a "comfort saddle" from Wal Mart for about $22....it's slightly wider, and it has a couple of gel pads on top for each cheek (or bone, whatever the case). If anyone sees you doing this, they'll think you're "special" but put them on the floor and test them out to decide which one feels best for you.

New scoot. New ride. New sled. You didn't just buy the saddle, baby. Ride it like you stole it.

Well I am the proud owner of a brand new Trek 7.3 FX-I think I'm in love! They gave me a bell( a must on the canal I guess, I prefer screaming get outta the way!!!!-really the protocol is to say "On your left"), reflector, compressor adaptor and water bottle and holder. Bought a set with a trek bag, pump, and tube-all accessories are 20 off. Need skort and gloves and a lock. 8)

I don't have a Richard Sachs. I wish I did (and Scott probably does too). That's why Richard has a six year wait for a bicycle. Looks overrated, yes?

Went for a long ride on the canal yesterday w/ Hubby. Seat is sore but legs feel great. The best tip I read was moving my hands every 10 minutes. Getting better at shifting-still a wuss going down this big gravel hill. Hubby did it and I went half way. Next time I am going to tackle it!
