I am inspired by all your journals that I thought this would benefit me too in that I could write here about my ups and downs of this journey to weight loss and feeling better about myself.

I gave birth over a yr ago to my first (who is so adorable and just started walking last week). I went on WW and lost all the baby weight but then some crept back on over a couple of months. Im generally a healthy eater, but here I am with flabby abs and a huge backside that I so desperately want to get rid of. I want my "skinny" clothing to fit again. I want a thinner face, I want to have daily energy back!

I exercise 3-4 times a week and work nights 7p-7a in the hospital. It's rough working nights and such a crazy schedule, but Im used to it by now.

I'm now in phase 2, week 2. Started at 158 and by now im down to 154.6. My goal is 140 but honestly, I'd love to hit the 30's.

Last week i was down to 154.1 and was so excited but today i was back up the 1/2 a lb. I know, I know, its cuz i was BAD over the weekend. I was so mad at myself for cheating on a pancake here and there that i went for a nap and when i woke up, i exercised to "fix it". How's that for a punishment?!!?

Now its almost 2 am, and im sitting here at work. its quiet so you'd think i am sitting here noshing and cookies and candies, but I'm NOT!!! I had some grapes I was working on for an hour and in my locker I have 15 almonds, a hard boiled egg, and a yogurt for my breakfast when my shift is almost done. I find that bringing a bunch of small snacks helps me get through the nights at work. I know a bunch of you out there are night nurses, I'd love your help!

I havent been as bad in 3 weeks as I was today. :!:

I worked last night's shift then had a meeting at work that didnt end until 8 am. Left work at 830 am and had to run some errands and interview so I didnt end up sleeping at all. Its now 6 pm and I havent slept in the last 24 hrs! This is nuts!!

i guess thats why i crashed and had pizza, soda, and some wafers. Bad, bad. shame on me. But thats all i ate today. No vegis, no fish, no eggs. Not one healthy thing :(
I plan on heading to bed for the night within the next two hours.

I'll hope tomorrow will be a better SB day and I will get to do exercise. At this point, Im about to drop dead from exhaustion.

See ya' tomorrow...

It was nice reading your posts and realizing I am not the only one struggling here and there. I actually started SB last summer. My husband lost almost 40 pounds and I lost 30. We looked great for our friends wedding and somehow it went downhill after. We both started eating whatever and my husband has gained 20 back. I have gained 12 back. So, here we are again.....Phase one....Week one....4th day. We have been so frustrated that we let ourselves do this! We do feel great now that we are back on it. Failure is not an option this time.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I liked reading your posts. I am actually a teacher and have been thinking of getting into the RN program next year (Fall 09). I need to take 4 classes first though. Would you reccomend it? I love teaching, but it is starting to change.. and not for the better. I would love to go into pediatrics so I am still around children. I am 25 years old and know I need to decide what the heck I want to do. I just don't see myself a teacher the rest of my life... This is my third year teaching and every year we keep getting things piled on us and we don't get paid anymore. Let me know what you think! (Sorry this is so scatter brained.... it is 5:45 in the morning... I don't usually get up until 7, but couldn't fall back asleep after my husband left. I started looking on the forum!)

Hi Teach25! Thanks for reading my posts. I know, my son is the cutest. Sorry, Im a little biased!! LOL

Totally go for nursing! I LOVE my job and I work in pediatrics and love working with the kids. Its such a rewarding job b/c you make such a difference in the patients' lives. It can be sad sometimes when the kids dont do well and have to go to the ICU, but you can work on a regular med-surg floor where the kids come in to the hospital, get better, and leave soon after. It's worth it for you to do it especially if youre not happy as a teacher. Also, nursing is such a diverse field in that once youre ceritified, you can work as any kind of nurse since every job you take, you get oriented to the floor, hospital, or clinic, etc. So they pay for your training.
I totally recommend you to go for it!

By the way, Im starting my masters this summer to become a pediatric nurse pracitioner. I will do it part time over 3-4 yrs. Most hospitals will pay for tuition reimbursement, so I wont be paying for my masters degree!

Its funny how you just woke up for the day. Im here at work 6 am and ending my shift. Welcome to the world of nursing!

Yes, that is one thing I would miss.... my schedule. I work from 8:45 am-4 pm. All holidays off. Plus, summer, fall break, winter break, and the best....spring break! I LOVE teaching, but it is starting to get to the point where we are doing so much extra crap that it takes the fun out of my job. I am sure every job has its downfalls, but I don't get paid enough! Anyways, how are you doing on the diet? I have been doing very well. I did cheat a little at lunch yesterday. It was someone's birthday and one of the librarians brought in an eclair-type cake. And, of course my big butt couldn't say no to a piece! It was almost like eating pudding with a little chocolate on top. Well, anyway... I was good the rest of the day. I did go out last night and have a few beers, but I consider that okay. I have to have down time on the weekends or I will go insane! I have lost 5 pounds this week which is good. My goal is to lose 40 more. I would love to lose it by August, but I will be happy with whatever I lose and keep off! I had a yogurt for breakfast and am hungry for a grilled hotdog... Well, hope you are doing well!

5 lb loss , teach 25?? WOW!! Thats awesome.
Def think about nursing if teaching is adding on more jobs youre not interested in doing or getting paid for. I have all weekends off and some holidays off. You gotta work out a schedule with your manager. But think about it, I work 3 days/nights out of 7 days a week! How can you ask for more? I feel like I dont work 1/2 a week! Its awesome.

This weekend i was BAD!! I had ice cream cake for desserts for two meals. But just like you said, teach 25, I need some down time on the weekend. I know during the week Im really on SB and strict about it. So I'm okay with having a treat or two on the weekend. I wont weigh myself until the middle of this week. but I totally feel a diff in my clothing! oh yaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Can anyone tell I'm starting to feel good about myself again?!?)

Speaking of which, I'm going right now to exercise on my elliptical. Let me try for 1/2 hr workout.
See you all ltr.

It is so great you are starting to feel good about yourself. I started feeling that and lost it when I gained some weight back. Yes, I have lost 5 pounds this week, but I have so much more to go... I guess it is 5 pounds less I have to lose though! I would like to lose 40 more. Actually, if I can get into a size 7/8, I would be fine with that! Yes, everyone needs some down time. Last night we went out to eat and I had some fish and a caesar salad. The best advice I have for anyone on this diet is if you do not eat right for a meal or even a day get back on SB the next meal. Don't just give up! If I ever cheat or do not eat good I just get right back on SB. Keep it up! (And I am signing up for my first class in the summer this week....) Thanks for your input.. I will keep you updated!
